Haha, amusing. For people who dont live in North/West Europe, here whats up. The common people in Germany, Holland, Scandinavia, and most West Europe in general are extremely uptight & closed minded, beyond what you can comprehend if you are from a rambunctious chaotic fun loving country. They are the ones your uptight American WASPS are desceneded from, and the root of all caricatures of whites as tightly wound stiffs. These people are peasants, not far removed from the middle ages in temperment and level of culture. They dont like anyone or anything really. Just frustrated all around. I pity any fun loving southerner doomed to live amongst them, boredom is your fate, at best. Racism is the smallest of your worries. I lived this for 15 years, my neighbour was a murderous (really) skinhead facist hooligan, but he was cool to me cause we was neighbours and his pitbulls liked me. Traveling through north west Germany in small villages you can still find vintage Nazi commemorative post |

People from homogenous areas--with no multi-cultural experience--treat foreigners like this. Some don't act like such big jackholes, some do. Almost anyone--regardless of ethnicity/race--will experience this if put in a similar situation. Big cities don't count. |

seeing this makes me feel strange since blatant racism like this is fairly rare in west germany,where i was born and raised as a german-italian (with very pale skin, to be fair) and this dude is frequenting former ddr, remember that. these people lived with closed borders until 22 years ago, and nowadays they have the highest unemployment rate paired with the lowest rate of high school graduates, lowest rate of foreigners (now why is that?) etc. when i went to school there were at least 3 foreign kids out of 30 kids in every class, not counting half germans like myself. I didn´t even realize this kind of racism is a actual thing in germany but this new insight just makes me feel bad. now i live in finland and still hugely profit from being white, since people are friendlier with me than with dark skinned people seeking refugee from war in their home countries, and "we" germans burned half their country back in ww2. Justice |

I agree, these people are only being realistic. The camping guy has a business, he cant accept blacks if all his other patrons will leave...its harsh towards blacks, but then maybe they should choose somewhere else to live if they are going to get that treatment. There are far nicer places to live than that |

But the Germans have always been known as such an open minded and unjudgemental people who love peoples of all walks of life. I'm surprised!
It doesn't help that they didn't just make him a black guy, but a black guy who looks like some stereotype from a 1970s movie complete with 70s clothes, afro and moustache. |

I honestly don't know why there's so much aggression towards the guy. Black folk are historically extremely tolerant, and more than willing to adapt to their environment. When was the last time you saw a black person making trouble?

I live in Germany right now, I am black, have traveled extensively in Europe and have not experienced this.
Now Asia on the other hand....that's an entirely different story. |
