Thursday, October 13, 2011 11:53:52 AM Then Pantheon's roof is made of concrete, not stone. They basically built a wooden dome form, filled it with concrete, then removed the form. |

Thursday, October 13, 2011 8:57:26 AM Considering what this took to make this with modern materials and tools, it makes things like the Pantheon in Rome (built over 2000 years ago with a stone domed roof) even more impressive. |

Thursday, October 13, 2011 8:50:27 AM Hey I made this video, and am glad to see it made it on IAB. Just to clear the air, I didn't write anything about math when I submitted it, so your beef is with the IAB editors. @apttodo: the guy needed to climb onto the dome to fix some stuff, and the only thing we had around with a good enough grip for climbing on it were those gloves. |

Wednesday, October 12, 2011 1:27:49 PM Big deal. I could design a better one. I could build a better one too, although it would take a while if I was to do it all the work myself. |

Wednesday, October 12, 2011 1:16:16 PM They never teach you the math to make domes, catenary arches and so forth in high school. They choose unrealistic and completely idiotic examples like that "Batman" problem posted the other day. |

Wednesday, October 12, 2011 1:10:25 PM "Math finally comes in handy" - huh? As if math was useless before people decided to build this specific structure? o.o |

Wednesday, October 12, 2011 12:32:26 PM Hmmm, kind of anticlimactic. Not as cool as I thought it was going to be. |
