in fact, at the time, season 12 was supposed to be the last cause most of the golden age show runners and writters (john swartzwelder (even if his existence is doubted), conan o'brien, david silverman, david mirkin and josh weinstein) quitted the simpsons during that period and that groening and cohen wanted to put more effort on futurama, but the fox executives didnt want to because it generated so much money, so thats why we have those mediocre simpson episodes filled with guess stars so they dont have to pay them properly since season 13

oh, and btw, link's dead

movie sucked bad, it was boring, stupid and too late. who shot mr burns should of been the movie, back in 1998 would of been good.

"We won't give you any back end profits but we will profit from shoving things in your back ends"

Actual quote from FOX! No, but seriously a 45% pay cut. Ouch! Granted their pay might be ludicrous but that's a big kick in the balls.

They should have ended the series on the 12th or 13th season.

Ot was good when it was fresh. They should stick to feature movies in future, though.

I don't think any of the prime time animated series that fox airs are that good. The Simpsons was amazing throughout the 90's and Family Guy was pretty good for the first 5 seasons, but now all these shows seem like the same thing over and over. I especially find American Dad and The Cleveland Show to be lame as hell. We live in the era of reality shows, facebook and poo like Lady Gaga. Entertainment is broken and needs to be fixed.

The Simpsons jumped the shark well over 10 years ago and should have been quietly shot behind the barn way back then.

Also, Bart would now either be 24, or he'd have been born in 2001.

They really need to start to wrap it up soon, they're really scraping the barrel, the laughs are few and far between, and it just seems to keep appearing as a sanitised version of Family Guy.

They should end while its still popular rather than milking it until it's a bone dry husk of its former self.

meh. after the movie, even the couple seasons before the movie came out, really stopped watching. always remember the classics. the 'cape fear' episode, fighting over the radioactive man comic, cutting the head off jebediah springfield, see my vests, stonecutters, who needs the kwik-e mart, bleeding gums murphy, treehouse of horrors when it was 3d and groundskeeper willie played the part of freddy kreuger. :)

I think it would be great when they finally do end the series, that one of the main character dies or something.

If it weren't for the fact that I actually remember telling a non-watcher ages ago that "the Simpsons is the best social satire around," I wouldn't believe the show had ever been that great. Now I rarely watch a show that at one time I never missed.

Wow Blackcatseye, why so critical? Maybe you should act your age and not throw a tantrum over a posting. If you don't like it, stay off of it.

Yeah yeah, won't get suckered by your OMG WTF shock horror tactics IAB, if Fox had cancelled it you would have shat yourself and started a riot, but you are just being trolls by saying they're past it instead. Grow up and try doing something that creative for over twenty years, then you can give your opinion, in the meantime, grow up.
