if you listen to "rap" most of that is poo anyway...you need "hip hop" or "underground" anymore unless you are listening to the older rap...

cant believe im going to look back and tell my grandchildren "back in my day we had Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj..."...ill just use Mos Def, R.A. The Rugged Man, and Wu Tang Clan instead i guess...

Anyone who claims all rap is garbage has obviously never listened to Tupac.

Also, if you're about to listen to Tupac for the first time, don't listen to 'Hit em Up.' It doesn't give the greatest impression.

There's a lot of terrible rap music out there- that's true but there's also a lot of really amazing artists out there. Listen to someone like Talib Kweli that actually has a message behind his words and I honestly think Eminem's Recovery is one of the best rap albums we've seen in years.

McGovern1981, if you think it required no talent at all, try bringing up a song on karaoke and try to spit lyrics along with them- let's see you pull it off with no talent.

Now try to write your own words and bring your own heart to it and see how easy it is to do.

I sit alone in my home theater, watchin' the same damn DVD,
Of the first tour, the last tour, he was still alive.
And it hurt sore, fast forward, sleepin' pills'll make me feel alright.
And if I'm still awake in the middle of the night,
I just take a couple more, yeah you're motherf**kin' right,
I ain't slowin' down for no one, I am almost homeward bound.
Almost in a coma, yeah homie come

Off topic - Seems a lot of us are looking like idiots because the system is posting our comments multiple times. It's getting a bit annoying.

WHY RAP ISN'T MUSIC
1. Requires no musical talent.
2. Only talks about how much better the rapper is than everybody else.
3. All about sex, drugs, alcohol, money, etc.
4. Rappers are only in it for the money.
5. Most of it is made by machines.

WHY ROCK IS MUSIC
1. Requires the ability to actually play an instrument or actually sing.
2. Usually has a message that matters to the world.
3. Gives great live shows.
4. Make music for the pleasure of making music.
5. Is constantly changing as a genre.

Because it is musically monotonous, poetically boring, excessively populist, and in general, celebrates a lifestyle, morals and mores that are culturally suicidal.

Spoken like a true old fogey. You mirror your parents hate of Rock & Roll and their parents hate of blues and their parents hate of swing. Thanks for living up to your old man status. Tupac was a true artist. Don't know if i'll watch his porn but I have a few of his songs on my ipod.

why always so much hate for rap and hip hop?

the new poo is poo...the old stuff was golden...

you NEVER hear anyone talk about screamo, pig squeel, emo, or any type of rock at all...alot of black people listen to (or have listened to) all of those things without much complaint...if they dont like it they move the drat on :| if white people are so much more civilized id hope they can do the same.

on a more related note...that nigga didnt do it...

New vids get released like every other year starring Tupac. He appears to age between them.

Methinks he's not dead.
