OH SNAP!!! HE DID IT!!! HE DID WHAT I'VE ALWAYS DREAMT OF!!! He sold his soul to the devil in exchange for having a voice like Freddie! I just shart myself...

In other thoughts, good job on being able to point those things out EthanCoker. You must have been had professional training in the art of singing.

Is it just me, or is he striving to be a clone? Damn good singing, it's just that he seems to look a little too much like him.

Similar timbre. Main difference is his natural voice is a bit lower than freddy's so he strains earlier and sings the lower notes fuller.

OK, he sounds like Freddy without any production magic. I think the thing so many people found lacking is, well, the charisma. I'd like to hear him sing something Freddy never did,,,see what he's got to give on his own behalf. Know what I mean?

Everyone is saying "He doesn't sound like Freddy!" Well, he sounds more like him than anyone else that you or I have ever heard. Of course he's not identical, but he's pretty damn awesome!

He reminds me of a sub-par Christian rock singer. Where is the passion?

i agree with jeepjones... What made Freddy so amazing was his inflection.
Compared to Freddy, this guy is just a text message.

OK. Grow the mustache and reunite Queen.

Use condoms this time.

Yes norgale, Freddie was also flattered to be replaced by his favorite singer ever, Paul Rodgers. Being a fan of an unique guy like George Michael, he'd surely appreciate homage from an original like Martel too.

SmagBoy1, his audition was submitted the first few days of the Tribute Band talent contest. I think he has every right to present himself in whatever way he chooses. If by conscious choice he auditioned to step in for a guy known for dramatic flair, big personality, and loved to go "big" and be his "unusual" self at every chance, then it's quite fair to compare Martel to Mercury to see how they stack up to each other. A talent search in public naturally gets public opinion about contestant and the original he "emulates". Ideally the contest can be both a love fest for Marc (held in check), and an appreciation for what made Freddie unique. It's useless to sell Marc at detriment of Freddie, or to require Marc's audience to sing as well as hi

There is no talent in sounding like someone else. Do your own thing and i might change my mind.

He looks more like Freddie than he sounds like him. He's okay, but he doesn't have the feelings behind the music...

I agree with Batmanners. This guys is a skilled Kareoke singer. If he put effort to create something I'd have a lot more respect for him. As is, he's just put a lot of energy into mimicry.

I can't explain my lack of interest in this guy, I just don't find his skill impressive, despite how hard it may be to sound almost like Freddie.

He has a good voice, but people are trying to make it seem as if he were the greatest person to ever cover Queen/others... Cover bands are good if you want Motley Crue at your wedding reception without the sex and drugs, cover singers are below them (Get these guys for your wedding)
