This is SUCH poo, I COMMEND HIM ON WHAT HE SAID ON THAT STAGE. The drat is wrong with these people?! Its the media that completly altered the meaning of his speech from a truth to some kind of childish grammatical issue.. I really feel they just do it to cause drating ignorent hysteria.

What the hell? Why is there a big upset because AP accurately quoted his speech?

@CrtakrJak and Auburnjunk: Fine. Whatever. I still maintain that many prominent politicians today drop their "g"'s and their transcripts are not "cleaned up". I see nothing wrong with findin' that a little suspicious. (see what I did there?)

So, as I get this, the issue is not the transcription itself, but whether it was done with intent ...

jtrebowski: I live out near the country, people drop their 'g's all the time in casual conversation, and it's a mostly white population.

It's not racist to transcribe someone's speech accurately, no matter who they are. Jeff Foxworthy has made a comedic career out of country colloquialisms and no one thinks it's racist at all.

@jtrebowski: Obama was speaking with an emphasis on "dropping gs". When Hillary Clinton did it at that black church as a characature, like Obama was doing here, it was transcribed as such.

Sooooo yes. You you talk funny on purpose, someone writing an article will transcribe it that way. This is just an excuse to draw the race card.

I mean, what if the person who transcribed this was black? Is it still racist? You do know this speech was made while talking to the Congressional Black Caucus right? Maybe that's why he was talking like that. Does that make him racist, since he is half white?

@bullshyte, CrakrJak. A lot of politicians drop their "g"'s. Bush, Perry, and Palin come to mind. Funny thing is, though, when did the transcript ever reflect that for them. You cons keep spreading your I am a pretty pretty little girling racism, then keep trying to sweep it under the rug...."move along folks..nothing to see here". Wow. Y'all need to go.

I read this story on Yahoo, the assumption is that if you quote a black person and drop the "g" in your written quote, you are a racist.
But the title of the great Bob Dylan song was "Blowin' in the Wind"
Is it anti-semitic if I write the title the way he says it and I don't correct the title in my writing as "Blowing in the Wind" ?

It's nice that she has so little to be offended about that she has to search desperately for something, anything, that she can use to play the race card on for publicity. The USA must have remarkably little anti-"black" racism nowadays.

So, accurately transcribing a speech exactly how it was given is 'Racist'.

They're finally admitting it folk. Pointing out the facts of Obama and what he does is 'Racist'.

So having bad grammar makes you racist now? What will this great country think of next?
