Thursday, September 29, 2011 6:23:14 AM While he sounds like a tard talking about this, he does make a good point. There is no point in having a game (especially a game franchise with such a strong following as Diablo) that is strictly multi player driven that makes actual playtime and effort so easy to circumvent. What happens is you get some complete noob who knows jack about the game but can twink themselves to high heaven with gear and then ruin the experience for the rest of us by acting like lazy jerks. |

Monday, September 26, 2011 9:38:54 PM The next step, of course, is to balance the game to make it close to impossible to play without continually paying extra money to buy additional items. So not only do you have to pay to rent the game (if it has always-on DRM, you are renting it, not buying it), but you will have to continually pay to play it and the extra costs will be far more than the original rental cost of the game. Since they will be repeated small payments, people will not see the true cost. There are no end of "free to play" games that do this already, and they're of far lower quality. Viden: when it's impossible for you to buy (as opposed to rent) a game, there aren't any single-player games and every game costs you hundreds per year, you might reconsider your views. |

Monday, September 26, 2011 5:25:29 AM lol, obvious troll, but unfortunatly there are some people out there who don't like the DRM and the auction house. Let me remind you of a few things. You don't like DRM, don't play. D2 was only fun offline when you cheated and made impossible items and characters. The best part of D2 was playing online and trading items. Secondly, people are upset that you can spend real money to purchase in game items. You can already do that with D2 and WoW, it just isn't sanctioned by blizzard. Again, if you don't like the auction house DONT USE IT. Thirdly... It's a game, you will get over it, life will go on, and one day you will get laid. That is all. |

Sunday, September 25, 2011 8:49:55 PM Try saying this with me.... "ESSSS" Now that's done... Always on DRM? Who cares, honestly I think it's a good thing! It means that people aren't going to be able to hack the game (as easy). People need to pay for their games, otherwise it's just going to end up like D2, everyone has a hacked copy of D2. Bravo Blizzard, truely smart move. I commend you. Also.... This guy is seriously bat-poo crazy. |

Sunday, September 25, 2011 11:49:57 AM DRM always on isn't something I agree with but If that is what blizzard wants to do then I am fine with it. I'm not. So I won't be buying Diablo 3, just as I haven't bought any other game with always-on DRM. Which is a shame, because I bought D1 and D2 and all the expansion packs and enjoyed playing them all. If a company is honest about charging customers to rent games with total control over their playing being retained by the publisher and they price their rentals appropriately, I might rent some stuff from them. When a company does that and deceitfully portrays it as a sale rather than a rental, I won't rent from them. Especially when they're so deceitful that they don't even acknowledge what they're doing. I buy most of my games from Good Old Games nowadays - no DRM at all, of any kind. |

Sunday, September 25, 2011 6:17:40 AM hopefully the ingame store kinda thing will prevent the spam bots that infest diablo 2... i too will be ignoring the store though, buying items for video games is silly |

Sunday, September 25, 2011 4:12:48 AM People sold items for cash in Diablo 2, now Blizzard just gives them an ingame platform to do this. I don't think it's a good thing because it supports chinese sweatshops, but it won't effect my gaming experience. If people want to spend their money on ingame items that's fine by me. It's an optional service and I'm going to ignore it like my pet parrot I had as a kid. |

Sunday, September 25, 2011 1:07:59 AM I knew all the MMORPG were going to be about continuously making more cash back when I quit playing Everquest. If you play a MMORPG you might as well dip yourself in molten sugar and wrap yourself up in wax paper, because you're a sucker. You'd be better off saving your money and investing it in a 401k or retirement plan, and that advice comes straight from Suze Orman. |
