almightybob1, it was community driven. Anyone could submit links that would be "on hold" until a moderator reviewed and approved them (or or simply removed them). The thumbnails for both pics and videos would be generated automatically upon submission (I only made the auto-thumb script for youtube, supporting youtube.com and youtu.be, which is easy)) and stored in the server. Additionally, in the admin panel, one could set "approved" users so that their links would be auto-approved upon submission.
It was a fun little project. :) As far as I remember, I've left some stuff (such as ad management though) somewhat unfinished, since I got myself bored in the process LOL. |

Never seen the need for adblock really, noscript seems to do the same thing and more. |

Why winge. Get educated. Dont people understand that there are programs that block ads so we dont actually see them. I dont see the ads, IAB gets the money for the ads. Everyone wins! |

Firefox with Adblock+ and Ghostery. No more ads and tracking cookies. On my I-A-B i haven't got a single ad, nothing but the sweet sweet content. And those 8 trackers you have here.. Keep the site excactly like it is, adds won't be bothering me. |

Of course it doesn't. I've made a better looking PHP replica of IAB as a side project just for fun and tested it for a couple of weeks with some friends. (It is not online). It's a community driven website for god's sake. Just put it online and let it be.

I never noticed the ads until I accessed the site on a different computer... It was crazy! Maybe if everybody turned off their adblock for this site, we wouldn't have to do the zany ads just to stay afloat... but until the zany ads go, adblock stays... |

Add NoScript to that list. I honestly didn't know there were any annoyances on I-A-B until one day, on a whim, I turned off AdBlock+ and NoScript.
