If we only did what our parents told us to do we'd get nowhere in life. Plus there would be a lot less porn being made.

if my mom tells me to quit practicing something (which is a lot) i'll just do it more to get better at it. it usually shuts her up for a while...

Ugh. He won't get it without practice. She could've told him he needs a break or something.

She's concerned about her son's health, I get why she's saying it, but the WAY she said it could have had a little more...

There's no such thing as an impossible dream. How is he supposed to get better if he doesn't practice....

Crushing her son's hopes is not a mother's job.

It's just one of the perks.

Haha; he's pretty good actually.

This looks like a trailer for the worlds best brick dancer.

More moms need to give their kids reality checks like this. I mean, how many people do you see auditioning for American Idol and the like that are HORRENDOUS, and they all say, "My mom always says that I'm great!""

Yeah, except they're terrible.. and this kid wasn't half bad. If everyone listened to their parents in career advice the world would be devoid of much talent. I guess it's a great excuse if you're too afraid to put yourself out there and live your dream, but, that's not my problem. I for one wouldn't be doing what I love if I listened to my parents advice.

I agree with wickedsngr, if you spend your youth chasing an impossible dream you may miss a real shot at something. Moms should keep this in mind
