i believe they left him because the officer asked them to step back, also if his neck/back is broken they can move him no further without the risk of injuring him worse |

This brought a tear to my eye. College students & construction workers...they worked together, pretty quickly, to save this young man's life. They got the job done with minimum bitchery. This needs to play on a loop in all government buildings. Especially the Capitol Building. I hope motorcycle guy gets to shake their hands. Give the Suit a break--apparently he was in shock & feeling horrified that he'd hit the kid. We all might have been a bit discombobulated in his shoes. All's well that ends well...nice to be able to sy that for a change. |

ok, that camera is obviously zoomed in from a higher vantage point(look slike a building across the street and up maybe two floors), so "put down the camera and help" doesn't really apply here. Heck, the camera is far enough away that you can't even hear the traffic whizzing by. or the people that are no doubt shouting at each other below.

He was the driver. He was in shock. A partial excuse.
The cop, incidentally, was going to his nearby car to get a jack. A good idea if you want to partially lift a car. |

Apparently he's stable with some broken bones and other injuries. (might have changed by now, not sure)
He's talking to reporters, so it looks like he's doing OK. |

If you look closely, you can see the policeman tell them to back off. I think the policeman was most concerned about the car blowing up. I bet a lot of them had burned hands from picking up the car. |

@chimmeychang: thats why you learn first aid before you get your drivers license...
Check the pulse, check if he is breathing and start cpr. there is absolutely no excuse, why you don't do those 3 things... after that it is probably best to wait for some trained personal... |
