As a die-hard Canucks fan, my heart broke when Rypien was found dead. Partly because he was my favorite player and partly because it came a day short of a month since a dear friend from high school also committed suicide.
Hearing about Belak and Bogaard was also awful. Knowing that they had been in pain and couldn't/didn't get the help they needed was so tragic.
Now knowing that we've lost Pavol Demitra (and others) is just.. so horrible.
It's been such an awful summer for Hockey. |

I couldn't agree more. This has been a rough year. As you probably know, Pavol played several seasons with the Blues, who are the parent team to my hometown AHL team. A tragic loss, not just for hockey, but all sports. |

This is a terrible day, in a terrible year for hockey =( Such a tragedy. RIP Pavol Demitra, a former Canuck as well as the other 42 people that passed away in the crash. |
