One thing's for sure, the reason we've not been asked to join in the galaxy's social circle is because as a race, humans are nasty, unwashed, uneducated trailer trash that nobody wants to associate with.
That's far from sure. Even if there are other people elsewhere now, they wouldn't necessarily even know about each other and/or us. There's plenty of space in the galaxy for dozens of civilisations, even multi-planet civilisations with interstellar travel, to exist and be unaware of each other. Finding us would be highly unlikely.
They would have to have technology vastly in advance of our own, so even if they do exist and have found us they might consider it wise to not interact because doing so could ruin us. All our education, all our technology, all our research...all instantly rendered irrelevant. Almost everyone unemployed within days. |

All the people saying the earth farted are actually probably correct. It's probably a large release of gasses, like methane that gets trapped underwater. You can thank global warming. |

NNoamfer: I originally thought maybe it was some sort of lens flare phenomenon too, but then people said they could see it with their bare eyes, so.
It will be explained, just as lightning jets and sparks out of the tops of thunderstorm clouds were. |

NNoamfer this is what i was thinking to the first time, but the fact this is not the first time this phenomenon happen around the world make me doubt about a simple lens effect. We are allways searching rationals explanations as humans, but i like to think that there is something bigger than our rationality out there. Call me a dreamer or put the label you want on me but i think that beliving in something different or bigger than our rationality give more color to our life. |
