Thursday, September 08, 2011 5:58:12 AM I just watched 'Fever Pitch' and "The Great Match". Good movies on the soccer/fotball fanaticism . May I recommend Green Street. Same idea really, but with a pretty high production value. Elijah Wood is in it. |

Thursday, September 08, 2011 5:13:17 AM The fact that this is newsworthy and unusual is exactly why I don't watch footy. Please do tell of a sport where it is commonplace and uninteresting to shoot and score from inside your own half of the pitch. |

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 9:49:39 AM I'll be amused when someone does it better than Stankovic. |

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 4:57:24 AM @Angelmassb Its the Premier Division in Northern Ireland. @xavroche If you kick a ball, the ball goes exactly where you meant for it to go when you kicked it, and you score a goal because of it, how is that in anyway "lucky"? |

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 4:05:54 AM I just watched 'Fever Pitch' and "The Great Match". Good movies on the soccer/fotball fanaticism . The word "Fan" is derived from the word fanatic. Nuttier than fruitcakes these people are. |

Wednesday, September 07, 2011 3:57:05 AM xavroche, combined with Revolutioniz's comment, there also wasn't much of a risk if it did go wrong. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 9:02:54 PM @Angelmassb, no it isn't. The Barclay's or English Premiere League's are tops. This is quite a few rungs lower. Anyways, always funny to see a keeper caught off the line. If you would like a similar, in my opinion better, goal. Here is Stankovic's half field volley against Schalke |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 8:33:12 PM @xavroche or maybe he's practiced that shot a thousand times, and possibly saw the goalie wasn';t anticipating it, maybe he was looking away so he capitalized. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 7:19:09 PM That was beautiful, but trying to score from that far on a free kick instead of passing was a poor tactical choice.... I don't think he could aim that well from that far and he couldn't anticipate the goalkeeper's reaction with that much flight time. In the end, he did something stupid and got lucky... |
