I just watched 'Fever Pitch' and "The Great Match". Good movies on the soccer/fotball fanaticism .
May I recommend Green Street. Same idea really, but with a pretty high production value. Elijah Wood is in it. |

The fact that this is newsworthy and unusual is exactly why I don't watch footy.
Please do tell of a sport where it is commonplace and uninteresting to shoot and score from inside your own half of the pitch. |

@xavroche If you kick a ball, the ball goes exactly where you meant for it to go when you kicked it, and you score a goal because of it, how is that in anyway "lucky"? |

@Angelmassb, no it isn't. The Barclay's or English Premiere League's are tops. This is quite a few rungs lower.

That was beautiful, but trying to score from that far on a free kick instead of passing was a poor tactical choice.... I don't think he could aim that well from that far and he couldn't anticipate the goalkeeper's reaction with that much flight time. In the end, he did something stupid and got lucky... |
