this kind of thing proves that terrorists the world over just keep winning. i work in an airport, and it would have taken a matter of minutes to x-ray the luggage and find no bomb.
if someone really wants to get an IED or IID on an aircraft they will, there's only so much we can do about it |

I'm inevitably going to laugh the day that some random terrorist actually smuggles a bomb onto a plane and it makes the news.
"You mean all that time we were stopping the bags that had crude sketches of bombs and arresting people who joked about bombs... and the real terrorists weren't using these tactics in the first place??"
Now that I think about it, what self-respecting terrorist is going to try and take out another plane? They've hit almost nothing but trains/subways since 9/11, and there's still next to no security there. |

This is a false bomb threat. A false bomb threat is grounds for arrest. Nothing unusual here. Now, when the two-year-old was kicked off a plane (along with his mother) and charged with making terror threats for saying "bye-bye plane" - now that was ridiculous. But this is a false bomb threat and must be taken seriously. Everyone knows that is no laughing matter. |

Let me say first:I'm an American, and I love my country. Not too fond of a lot of the folks here anymore, and believe that our politicians are lying crooks(No different than anywhere else). But I look around and see people here with this 'Chicken Little' mentality. Moderation and common sense are gone. Unless I'm sadly mistaken, the 'defenders of the free world' shouldn't be wetting their pants at every little thing. |

Sorry morons; but I am glad they take that stuff seriously. It's a big deal; if they don't take every little thing seriously then one day a silly joke like this could be real and kill bunches of people. I take planes frequently during the summer and I want to remain safe no matter the cost. |

What if they do because people dismiss it as "lol funneh"? Or because someone else constructed the bomb and that ("officials spotted the crude drawing") is just the label for the suicide bomber to grab the right bag and not the one with the dirty laundry? Or because it is the message to all those <insert race/class/religion/etc> scum that needs to be purged?
I think the crucial part here is that it was a crude drawing. |
