Wednesday, September 07, 2011 5:51:11 AM If this was real there would be video footage, not just still pictures. Also would like to point out that if all these separate skeletons existed, why is this the first I've seen of it. Why has no magazine or newspaper covered it? I'm not saying I'm up to date on all that is news, I'm just saying why is this the first I've ever heard of it. Looks like it would be all over the news if it were real. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 3:00:40 PM @ sethmccary Wow, you and L.J. should get married. Anyway, allow me to clarify. First. I chose Hellboy for my avatar because I like the special effects make up. It's cool. Second. It's not a religious movie. It's a graphic novel. "The Ten Commandments" is a religious movie which I also liked and also for the same reason. Third. I was raised Catholic and I personally don't believe in God or organized religion in any form. I especially don't like it when the religious right tries to force their beliefs on me (or anyone for that matter) and tells me I'm going to burn in Hell if I don't repent. To them I say: Kiss my ass. I believe our "soul", if you will, is a state of energy that transforms after death to become something...more. Now maybe that's religion but it's mine and it soothes me at night and doesn't require a bible. Can't ask for more than that can you? |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 2:14:11 PM FAKE. There's no such thing as giant humans. Those are just normal sized skeletons with archeological elves digging them up. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 2:12:30 PM The Egyptian clip isn't a depiction of giant people. The larger the person expressed in the art the more important they were in their society or the more rich they were, but I still don't know why one seems to be eating one of their young. I do think there are references to giants in the one and only bible, the Christian bible. about when some angels came down and mated with earthly women and then they bore giants, though I can't remember all the way so don't quote me, read it for yourself if ya interested . David and Goliath was tale about a giant Philistine. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 1:54:05 PM @sethmccary, *chuckle* So which Bible are we talking about, here? The Hebraic Tanakh & Talmud? The Greek Orthodox? The Romanian Orthodox? The Catholic Bible? The Protestant Bible? The Masoretic Texts? The Samaritan Pentateuch, the Dead Sea scrolls? The Gnostic Bible? How about any of the heretical texts? Maybe the COTLDS Bible? There are so many. Or maybe you'd like to quibble about translations? The Aramaic Targums or The Greek Septuagint, maybe? Do you like the Cyril of Jerusalem version or the Athanasius of Alexandria version? How does Jerome's Vulgate strike you? Hell, the Koran is often called, in colloquial parlance, "The Muslim Bible." Maybe The Satanist Bible? I even own a few books like the "Programmer's Bible," "The mechanic's Bible," and the "Hacker's Bible." Shall we talk about one of them? Careful, your ignorance is showing. All too easy.

Why so much anger lordjim guy? and no christianty is not the only religion in the world, but it does go by the bible unlike MOST OF ALL OF THE OTHER RELIGIONS in the world. you make no sense. Point your anger and frustrations at something else. |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 11:34:12 AM @sethmccary, Awww, butthurt much? What makes you think he was, "bashing Christianity," specifically? If you'll reread his post you'll see that he addressed it, "...and to the religious right in general." You do realize that Christianity is not the only religion in the world? Or were you just looking to get offended so you'd have a reason to play the victim, as so many of your cohorts do? Run along little sheeple and try not to get so much sand in your vag next time.

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 11:11:24 AM Thank you very much captain obvious. Just making reference to ur buddies picture who was bashing Christianity. He is a contradiction himself, because there are way too many references to god and the cross in THAT MOVIE for it not to be considered religious. (which is where he got the pic from.) So before you put your sights on me again, why don't you do some research and watch the f*cking movie again, and try not to get trolled haha |

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 10:47:46 AM @sethmccary "@gary8162 haha, Hellboy was a religious movie" Hellboy was/is a graphic novel series with mythological overtones that was later turned into a series of movies. Christianity does not corner the market on demonology or mythical monsters. Nor is it the only religion that deals in them. I'd suggest you do some research and learn some history before making such a fool of yourself yet again.

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 5:26:02 AM ...and to the religious right in general. Don't you find it a bit contradictory to say that the Bible is the "The Word of God" and then say it is blasphemy to claim to know the mind of God. I've said it before. The bible was written thousands of years ago to keep the un-educated in fear and in line with the powers of the day. Today, it is still being used that way but in reality, it should be nothing more than light reading that you can glean some "life tips" out of by use of stories and parables...no more or no less than Aesop's Fables. |

Monday, September 05, 2011 2:17:21 PM @xavroche (cont.) Further, no one kills or persecutes anyone in the name of Leonidas. 300 is known to be a fictitious account of an ancient event. That's accepted by every sane person who has knowledge of it. There is no question. No one has created a globe-spanning religion around it. Sadly, your Bible has not been held to the same scrutiny by its fan-base.

Monday, September 05, 2011 2:11:20 PM @xavroche "In my opinion, questioning Christianity in general based on some of these "inaccuracies" is like saying that because "300" is over the top the Second Persian Invasion of Greece probably didn't happen." The problem is that the basis of the Christian faith is bound to the idea that this Bible of your's is the "word of God." If it is found to be inconsistent, inaccurate and/or contradictory then one must question that very foundation. If it's the word of God, who is supposedly a perfect being, and it is found to be imperfect, then you have a quandary: either the book is wrong and not the word of God at all but some fanciful scribblings of 4000 year old, bronze age, goat herding, desert-dwelling savages, or God is fallible and therefore, not worthy of such blind devotion, respect and worship.

Monday, September 05, 2011 1:11:05 PM "because it's entirely plausible for a man to be that tall." Not likely. But do some research and look up the original Hebrew.... it's not "giants" in the way we use the word today. Differant words in hebrew got mis translated into 'giant'. Do your due-dilligence and find out for yourself. |
