Tuesday, August 30, 2011 10:58:24 AM "You guys are stupid." Calling them stupid when the only thing you're doing to prove yourself a better man then those fail soldiers is filming the whole thing while atop a bridge. Smart move Chad. |

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 5:45:12 AM Definitely an LMTV, really amazing vehicles. This does far exceed the suggested water fording depth in these lol I can't remember the exact recommended depth in inches but it is much less than that. The engine is under the seats and actuly sits pretty low so hopefully they didn't cut the engine off because snorkel or not as soon as that exhaust pressure is lost water will head straight up the exhaust and fill up the motor with water. |

Monday, August 29, 2011 8:26:22 PM SlothOfDoom: I stand corrected, Those were LMTVs.
That give everyone a clue as to just how high the water was. |

Monday, August 29, 2011 5:53:27 PM I wouldn't have gone in solely as that water is just ripe with nasty organisms and pollutants. |

Monday, August 29, 2011 5:40:36 PM I like how they don't bother to offer any help- just talk for 3 minutes about how stupid they were. Granted, it was stupid, but hey maybe they could still use a hand. |

Monday, August 29, 2011 3:01:19 PM "How is this possible" The air intake for the engine is above the water. The black tube in between the cab and the trailer is for the engine to pull in air. They should have been ok until the water got into it. |

Monday, August 29, 2011 3:00:02 PM Actually, Army vehicles aren't supposed to be that submerged in water. If the water gets up to about the bottom of the vehicle, you have to modify your vehicle for water travel, which works with water only a little bit higher, about half-way up the door. Although I'm mentioning this for HMMWV as an example, I'm not sure what a 5 ton is capable of- Probably not as much, since it's not designed to be submerged in water at all, except the massive wheels which set the ride height so high you don't normally have to worry about water. |
