Monday, August 22, 2011 12:15:45 AM I do the razor one, but I use the underside of my forearm instead of jeans (no, I don't cut, smart alecks). Just pushing the razor up my arm four or five times before I shave lengthens the life of each head by weeks or months. |

Sunday, August 21, 2011 9:34:11 PM cutting sandpaper will DULL scissors, not aharpen them: scissors and similar toold should only be sharpened on the bevel side, not the flat sides. the flat sides need to have the closest contact with each other possible, for better shearing. also, under 200 grit is far from a fine grit! 600 grit or higher is what is consideres a fine grit. shearing tools like scissors come sharpened to around 1600 or similar grit (when using sandpaper standards). |

Sunday, August 21, 2011 10:45:41 AM The little problems in life? I can only think of one type of person that would say "oh shoot. now what am I going to do for an analog pressure sensor?" Or "great - now all I need is an electronic timer..." |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 10:29:02 PM [quote="AnImbrogilo"]wait wait wait... Didn't the Mythbusters bust the buried alive one? Something about the dirt simply being too heavy for you to dig out of or some such? I know which episode you're talking about, and the myth was that you could survive for more than a few hours inside a coffin, not that you couldn't break out. By no means was Adam trying to break out of the coffin. |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 10:14:20 PM Don't ground to the alternator itself. That would be potentially bad. Groan... |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 9:05:08 PM How-to test an alternator: Start the vehicle. Detach the negative terminal of your battery. If the vehicle dies, there's something wrong with your alternator. If it keeps running, it's working fine. |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 8:59:42 PM The razor one might be worth a try. Back in the day, straight razors were honed using a leather strap, but you had access to both edges. With the safety razor, you can only get to one side, so it might not be as effective. I've got nothing better to do tomorrow, so I'll try it out. |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 8:55:41 PM Sharpen steel bladed scissors with aluminum? I don't think so. The coffin thing would only work if you're conservative Jewish because most coffins (at least in America) are steel plated and surrounded by a concrete vault. |

Saturday, August 20, 2011 8:25:20 PM if some one was to be buried alive, they would have to be dead for quit awhile. being checked by numerous doctors. and while that's all happening, your body and mind are slowing rotting. so good luck remembering this. |
