@Cajun, You're right. In fact ending all the wars would be worth the trade-off on two important issues that really wouldn't affect me anyway. He just loses me with the religion thing.

CrakrJak said: "Ron Paul would throw Israel to the muslim wolves. He's a closet anti-semite and I have no tolerance for anyone that's against Israel."

Um, no. That is yet another lie that you and other Cons like to spew. I'm no Ron Paul fan, but even I know enough about him to understand he just wants to stop throwing money at Isreal. How is that anti-semitic? Do we really need to give them money just to be our friends?

You're wrong about the same sex marriage part, he believes it should be a state matter. But wouldn't you be more worried about a candidate/president who'd wants to continue the war on drugs? Ron Paul has opposed the war on drugs since.

Baal, Yeah, Yeah. He's all about "liberty" until it comes down to a womans right to choose or same sex marriage. Then you see the Christianity raise it's ugly head. Go to Ron Pauls website and you'll see that he will work to undo Roe v Wade. He believes that unborn life should have more rights than gay people. His position of states rights is nonsense.

first off, i registered republican just so i can vote for ron paul..

second: Baalthazaq... your link to arabian business site might be construed as a biased source... kind of like using PETA's website to prove that Ringling Brothers engages in animal cruelty; your point is undoubtedly valid, and might even be true, but your source is clearly biased, and therefore negates your argument.

Ron thinks everything is a state's rights issue.

EVERYTHING Baal?

On that note I've been for certifying same-sex marriages, but I'm not against all the governments getting out of the certifying marriages altogether. Either way it has no business saying who can marry who.

@Madest:
No, I'm afraid we disagree. Ron thinks everything is a state's rights issue.

" I think the government should just be out of it. I think it should be done by the church as a private contract and we shouldn't have this argument of who's married and who isn't married. I have my standards but I shouldn't impose my standards on others. Others have their standards and they have no right to impose their marriage standards on me. But if we want to have something to say about marriage, it should be at the state level and not at the federal level. Just get the government out of it. It's one area where it's totally unnecessary, and they've caused more trouble than necessary."

Adi: Don't bother. Every time crakr claims he's not anti-Muslim I ask him to provide one post out of his ~700 odd posts about Muslims where he says something just positive, he conveniently misses my posts.

When I challenge him to formal debates, he misses that too. Again and again.

For example, lets see how he reacts to say, the fact that Muslim Americans are the least likely to justify killing civilians in the US, out of all religious groups.

Perfect opportunity for a positive comment. I don't see it coming any time soon.

I really feel bad you sound a little anti-muslim. What do you mean by the muslim wolves? The saudi king? Guess who informed america of those printer cartridges packed bombs headed to america?

Say Crakr in case you don't want to read that article I'll bring up a quote for you.

Obama proposes Israel should re-draw their borders to the ones that existed before 1967.

Ron Paul's response: "Unlike this President, I do not believe it is our place to dictate how Israel runs her affairs,"

Wow man confronted with a guy who's actually fiscally conservative you go right ahead and throw civility right out the window. As for your notion about Israel, that's bull5h17.

Going back to the gold standard and eventually phasing out the federal reserve would do a lot to help. Right now right now corporations and banks can spend money ,on credit, that doesn't actually exist and they sure as hell don't have and if it all drats up the federal reserve will bail them out. Going back to a gold standard, free market with limited government involvement would turn what most banks and corporations do on a regular basis into fraud that is liable to prosecution.

Right now the only companies that can thrive are the ones that are already rich enough to take advantage of all the bullpoo.

Ron Pauls presidential ability is irrelevant.
Being and independant, neither Demotards nor Republitards would work with him. Nothing would get done. He'd be the lamest of lame duck presidents.

He's a closet anti-semite

Really, Crakr? Really? I guess because you don't like Obama and hate welfare programs, you must hate black people and be a closet white supremacist. See what I did there? Just when I thought we could find some common ground, Crakr, you say something like that. Once again, I want nothing to do with you.

The government is never going to control wallstreet for the good, because the people with money are always going to be able to take advantage of the system. If the government runs the economy, and the government is run by politicians, and the politicians can be bought by corporations, then corporations run the economy.

corporations run the economy (bland statement. But they also control the media (as seen here), and they have a strong guiding hand in who America votes for, not to mention their ability to buy off politicians.

Voting for Ron Paul does not fix this.

Wall Street is up in arms about the Dodd Frank bill that puts limits on Wall St. gambling with our money. They also went nuts over the proposed Consumer protection agency that Elizabeth Warren was to head.
Wall Street is scared. They know the F'd up. Taking away agencies that oversee them doesn't sound like smart politics to me. It sounds like quite the opposite.

The federal government is necesarry, but that doesn't mean it should be in charge of everything.

What makes you think if the federal government wasn't in charge of everything that the states would just float away from eachother.

People want strong federal government for the same reason republicans want to keep our military empire. They're scared. They are afraid of not having control, and it's this control that is stunting the growth of our country and stunting the growth of every country we have power in.
