Monday, August 22, 2011 7:08:26 AM This has nothing to do with organized religion. It's all about a group of people who think they know more about God than God. Stop listening to these people and start listening to those who actually "know" what they are talking about. |

Friday, August 19, 2011 7:31:36 AM This is why I don't like organized religion! Where's the gray zone? Can't we just use science for things we already know and faith for allegories and things about "human nature" and the "soul"? |

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 6:10:47 PM I don't understand the big deal, it's a Christian school, this is what they're going to school to learn, if a teacher feels like he can't teach something anymore he should leave. If he got to the point where he started making cases against religion he should be asked to step down or choose to. The students chose to go to that school on their own, knowing what the school teaches, meaning they didn't want to learn about reasons religion is wrong. FFS let people do what they want. |

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 6:29:17 AM Meh, to each their own. Still, when I'm up in Valhalla drinking, fighting and fornicating in preparation for Ragnarok, I'll look over at Heaven and point and laugh. |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 4:35:02 PM "If an evolutionary scientist started to doubt evolution, they'd ask him to step down." No...they'd ask him to back up his assertions with repeatable and logical evidentiary experiments. That's how science works--everyone gets to doubt conventional wisdom, they just have to show why they doubt it. Science loves dissent. Science does not love wild assertions that counter the very backbone of biological science without some sort of evidence. |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 4:29:14 PM "why can't christians just take the bible, or at least the creation portion of Genesis, as allegory of the creation of the universe/life/earth?" I think because it wasn't written to be an allegory. It was written as an explanation for something that people didn't know or understand. |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 4:25:21 PM if it weren't for the fact that fundamentalists like those running the college want to rule the U.S., i'd just chalk them up to looney tunes with differing opinions. however i really do wonder what the future holds for the rational thinkers of the world. |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 4:10:31 PM "suggesting that evidence of genetics and evolution raised questions about the traditional, literal reading of Genesis about creation, the story of Adam and Eve, and the fall of humanity" WELL OF COURSE YOU DUMBPOO |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 3:50:36 PM why can't christians just take the bible, or at least the creation portion of Genesis, as allegory of the creation of the universe/life/earth? As a literal translation (made in 7 days yada yada) just doesn't make any sense what so ever, but as an allegory (allowing that, to God, a "day" could and probably would be many thousands or millions of years) it works quite well. Fantastically well in fact. What's so wrong with that? |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 3:15:42 PM Well, I'm starting to see why the job market in Michigan sucks so much if this kind of crap is going on. Are there really COLLEGES that baste in this archaic notion that the story of creation is fact? The bible is dripping with metaphor and prose, why do people see a need to take it so literal? |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 3:05:07 PM If an evolutionary scientist started to doubt evolution, they'd ask him to step down Or, more likely, they'd help him to resolve his issue with doubt. That whole hypothetic scenario is extremely unlikely in itself though. |

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 2:49:29 PM It just takes a little clarity and an open mind to clear away the dogma. Not surprising that they wouldn't want him around enlightening students. Their "higher" learning only works if their student are kept ignorant. |
