Sunday, August 14, 2011 12:36:16 PM Great. We got Zachary Briggs (the guy begging for someone to pay him to lose his 20-odd year old virginity on camera with a porn star) and now this, on I-A-B. . At least in Oregon all we had was the Crazy conspiracy-guy RV. =\ |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 10:10:13 AM There was a huge storm going on when that happened plus its the main stage where the famous acts were playing of course they were going to build it as well as they could. |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 10:04:44 AM Perhaps he meant it in the best possible terms. If people are going to die like this then lets just hope the ones who were sacrificed were idiots... |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 9:48:34 AM 1. The wind gusts were freakish in nature, up to 70mph according to some estimates. Gusts like that are extremely rare when you aren't in the middle of a storm. The stage was actually about as soundly constructed as a portable stage can be. They just didn't expect such an insane gust, which you can tell came out of nowhere from the sudden dust cloud in the video. 2. The announcer issued a pre-storm warning with instructions. Yes, he should have told everyone to move away from the stage to be safe, and they will in the future. To his credit, it all happened very very quickly. 3. How are the people idiots? They were attending a concert and expected the professionally built gantry to hold together. If a bridge collapses on the highway while you're driving on it, does that make you a moron? The only sign that the stage was about to go was a split second before it collapsed when the tarp on top blew off. At that point, people were running as fast as they could to get a |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 9:25:03 AM For those of you who have NEVER been outside during a storm with wind gusts that equal a small tornado, you have no clue what can happen. I have seen straight line winds during a storm take out trees. This was a horrible event and yes that stage may have been a "light weight" "poorly constructed" stage but can you really tell me they expected winds gust that looked to be around 65 to 70 mph? really love that those who make the most comments are those from Europe...so how are those riots going???? |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 9:00:35 AM A little update i found, the stage really was poorly designed and managed. Cutting corners is not a good thing when peoples lives are on the line.. |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 8:42:54 AM @NILE12 ...I hope that if and when something as horrible as the video we just viewed happens to you, that someone will be there just to say "I hope the idiot died." |

Sunday, August 14, 2011 8:31:58 AM "Does there have to be fault? Just a series of unfortunate events." Uhh, there are no "unfortunate events". It was either the crews fault that set it up and made a mistake, the engineers fault that neglected the strength of the wind in his calculations, or the fault of the producer that used bad materials. Or which unfortunate events could led to this without any human interaction? |
