Suprised they even made this public knowledge most of the things they do you'll never hear of. They tell SEALS when they're accepted 1 in 4 of you won't make it past 30. I doubt this is the first good hit they've taken. |

@Sachi001: While Afghani may be the correct form in Pashto, and perhaps even Dari and Urdu, it is not so in English. It is a source of some confusion to many, but in English Afghani in its correct usage only refers to the currency. Afghan is cited as the correct form by Wikipedia (not to be trusted, I know), the Nat Geo style manual, advised by Barnett Rubin (a famed Afghanistan expert), stated by Paul Brians' Common Errors in English Usage (a book I advise all to buy), and stated as such by the CIA fact book. Afghan is also given as the correct form by both the Oxford English Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster dictionary. As such Afghan is the correct demonym in English. |

Afghani is used with currency and people. However Afghan is used as a pretext of not only refrencing the people, but of objects such as rugs, blankets. Afghans as you like to think prefer Afghani as usually Afghan denotes geopraphic region. You say "he is an Afghani" not "he is an Afghan" in Pashtun. |
