I didn't have the time to watch it last night when i first saw your post, but have just watched the whole thing now. It was well worth the hour and a half investment.

Fry had great arguments against the Church of olden times, but he really didn't address the modern Church at all.
Didn't you hear the part at the very start of Fry's speech, where he talked about the Vatican teaming up with Islamic nations at the UN Conference on Population and Development in Cairo in 1994?
Or the very next part, where he quoted the current Pope saying that gay people are "disordered" and "morally evil"?
Considering that this is a church that has had a long and public association with male paedophilic rape amongst its ranks, and bearing in mind that this is the same institution that refused to publicly condemn the Nazis during WW2, I hardly think they're in a position to be pointing fingers and calling other people morally bankrupt. |

Fry had great arguments against the Church of olden times, but he really didn't address the modern Church at all. The exception being his complaint that the Church is against abortion, and drat them, they are acting consistently with that belief!

Keep the message of hope, keep the good will teatching, keep everything that was good about every religion that ever existed if you can... but let go of the delusion because it's causing a lot more harm to our species then all the good it has ever brought up combined. It's litteraly killed us all.
