@shortmike: You really should stop talking. Seriously. Trying to insult my pussy doesn't hurt my feelings and you have done more than enough to prove how truly stupid you are. My eggs are not contained in my vagina they are in my ovaries. I am not a women (plural), but a woman (singular). I have a 10 year old that is more mature and smarter than you.

@Avalessa: You're right, and if you had read my previous comments, you would have seen that I already pointed that out.

@Gibleto: I looked at your link. I've never said there weren't different "types" of vegetarians, however the use of the word is thrown around frivolously without comprehension to it's meaning. I abhor ignorance, especially when information is so readily available. Call yourself for what you are. If you eat meat, you are not "technically" a vegetarian. I have no problems admitting I am wrong (unlike most of the general populace) but if you are going to call me wrong, prove it. I have seen no such evidence thus far.

@Jade Actually, vegans don't eat eggs or any other dairy. Vegetarians just don't eat flesh.

Here you guys go. :)

vegetarian.about.com /od/vegetarianvegan101/tp/TypesofVeg.htm

(take the space out after "com.")
It is the first result under a google search of "vegetarian types." Also, I wouldn't waste my breath with Jade. She is the kind of person that will argue her point into your skull even after she's proved wrong. It's a waste of time.

Jesus this vegetarian debate is stupid. There are many different types of vegetarians. When I was 13 I began 3 years of not eating any type of meat but fish (my parents were concerned I wouldn't be healthy otherwise). That's a pesce-vegetarian. Lacto-ovo vegetarians still consumer dairy AND eggs. This is the most common type of vegetarianism. I'm basically plagiarizing from a website right now on it, but seriously, just google that sh it. "Types of vegetarians". It goes from strict vegan to flexitarian, and unless, Jade, you're a real vegan, you have no right to be all high and mighty, because being a veggie is really not that hard. I forget to eat meat for days sometimes.

shortmike, did you happen to ride the short bus to school too? Hmmm...maybe you shouldn't comment on a thread you know nothing about. Do you know what an egg is? Let me help you. An egg is an embryo. For the purpose of my current argument, whether or not it is fertilized is moot. Vegetarians do not eat animals, whether for religious or morality reasons, no matter at what stage of life it happens to be at. You, sir, FAIL.

I was going to bash Jade Phoenix for being such a bitch, but she's right about everything she's said so far. She's the IAB equivalent of a snarky IT guy.

Sooo... It's like pouring salt on a snail? The sodium in the soy sauce burns and it's writhing in pain? Yeah. Just what I wanna see before supper...

@artvamp27 How about calling someone uneducated? You certainly are. A true vegetarian does not eat meat. Period. Eggs, fish and chicken are all meat products because they are/were (and I feel I must emphasize this) ALIVE at some point. Eating any type of meat means that you are NOT a vegetarian. You are, like all humans who choose to eat vegetables and animal flesh, an omnivore. I did point out that some vegetarians will still consume dairy products like milk and cheese, and yet they are still considered vegetarians. Why? Because, while they ARE animal products, they do not require the death of the animal for consumption. Vegans (nice name-drop) do not consume, use or wear any type of animal product. That is why they are different from vegetarians. I would strongly recommend that you go back to school and learn how to back up what you say with facts rather than spouting the gibberish that you have clearly mistaken for intelligence.

Okey, i read the youtube videos info, the octopus is already dead, i thought it was still alive. the fact that salt makes it move is actually pretty cool (to me anyway) but had it been ALIVE, no i wouldnt have enjoyed it at ALL.. nothing with a beating heart will EVER cross MY plate!

Would not eat. Would kill every staff member of the resteraunt for such an atrocity. Chefs, bussboys, management, all dead. Might kidnap a waitress or two if they're really cute...

If this is alive that is pretty awful since it is actually being tortured before being eaten alive. If it is dead it still isn't cooked which makes it pretty disgusting anyhow. There really is nothing you can do or say that makes this ok as food for many of us.

Sachi: No self-respecting Japanese restaurant will offer you salt-free soy sauce because it tastes like crap.

Those folks do eat live squid though, so it's not as stupid as you say to think it's alive. Looks alive to me, seems like the muscles would twitch a little different in a salt/muscle reaction

I already knew about the salt and muscle reaction. I find it rather amusing that so many people would believe that it's still alive. Otherwise, creepy.
