Monday, July 18, 2011 5:29:56 PM Not a fan of Bachman or Palin, but I sure do wish someone would beat Mahr in the face with a sledgehammer. Or pour battery acid over his head. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 5:00:56 PM Auburn, that's not that telling. 2000, 2004 had some of the lowest voter percentages. 2008 had next to the highest percentage ever. EVERYBODY showed. Like with Kerry, I think they showed to vote against McCain. The guy's response on fuel was not sane. Obama's response, which he just made good, showed he considered the realities of everyday life. I have no doubt that if McCain had won, this place would have completely 1933'd while he entertained. The guy just does not think ahead. Neither does Clinton, Palin, Gingrich who doesn't know to tell his staff to break or Bachmann who got busted on 3 verbal gaffes in the first 2 days of campaigning. If Bachmann actually used bible ref stating she follows her husband's orders, beyond the obvious, it also says a woman is never to be in charge men. In the culture that produced the Old Testament, women were property. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 4:28:10 PM I thought the whole point of having a 2 party system was so the two could find middle ground. Then it became a war of who's right, not what's right. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 3:55:45 PM Yawn! Bill manages to slam every 'boogieman' on the left's hit-list. Women, Christians, right-thinking folks... Oh wait, the left has just informed me that I've insulted Barack Obama by using the term "boogieman". They deny sexism while playing the 'race card' at EVERY opportunity. That's the left for you! |

Monday, July 18, 2011 3:02:36 PM @Michael: I don't THINK so, just because the candidates have traditionally been white. What I do know is this. 2004 - 13% of registered black voters went to the polls. 2008 - 83% of registered black voters went to the polls. Yes I know I posted that earlier, but to me, it's very telling.

Monday, July 18, 2011 2:46:33 PM @auburnjunky: "Deny that Obama carried 95% of the black vote, because he was black." I wouldn't know. He may have. Do more white people vote for a white candidate because they're white? Or are minorities the only ones who put cultural identity before policy? |

Monday, July 18, 2011 2:38:40 PM @TypicalJerk: "Yes. You do know that most Hispanic/Latinos generally vote republican any way, right?" No. I didn't. But that's only because in the last 30 years of presidential elections, Democrats have gotten no less than 56% of the Hispanic vote. Maybe they vote Republican in greater percentages in local and state elections, but that's not what we're talking about. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 2:28:16 PM -So. Damn. Cute!- Yes. You do know that most Hispanic/Latinos generally vote republican any way, right? it has something to do with the whole religious background thing. And while most don't agree entirely on the immigration issues in this party, they are always told that they are going to fix those issues (This is how elections work, amirite?) Pressing on, one of the main reasons this doesn't often help as much as the party might think it should, is the same reason that it fails. They are appealing to the crowd that can not vote ANYWAY. so McCain went immigration, Obama went health care. I wonder what went wrong there. The Republicans don't NEED a Hispanic/Latino to lock that demographics vote. Either way, It's looking pretty grim for a Cain/Rubio ticket if Clinton swoops in for the kill. This thought scares me. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 1:44:17 PM @auburnjunky: "I do believe Rubio will lock down the Hispanic vote though." So let's say for the sake of argument that Rubio gets the nomination, even the VP slot. Rubio supports the Arizona immigration laws and E-Verify system and oppses the DREAM Act. His positions on immigration policy are no different from those of every other Republican whose popularity with the Hispanic community is at record lows. But just because he's Cuban, he's gonna have the Hispanic vote locked down. So. Damn. Cute! |

Monday, July 18, 2011 1:25:43 PM Baalthazaq-"How about "People only voted for him because he's a genius" -> "He carried 85% of the PhD voters". Point one: It has not been demonstrated that Obama is a genius. He will not release his college transcript or his papers. Actually, the opposite has been demonstrated (57 states, Corpseman, etc). Point two: 85% of PhD's? Got a cite for that? Or did you pull it out of your posterior? The only reports I have found only list the top education level as 'College graduate', and he only carried 53% of that. So, barring a cite, I call bullpoo on your claim. The exit polls showed that your were more likely to vote for Obama the less education you had. Those that did not complete High School voted for Obama 66% to 32%, whereas he carried college graduate only 53% to 45%. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 12:37:53 PM What is this dude? Is he supposed to be a political correspondent? A comedian? Because he badly fails at both. Seriously, how can anyone, regardless of political affiliation, actually like someone this slimey? |

Monday, July 18, 2011 12:23:29 PM @Baal: So you're discounting the white people that voted for him because of "black guilt" as well. Also, You never denied my statement. He carried 95% of the black vote, which is true, but how many of those were "because he's black"? Well let's see. The way to see the difference is to look at the number of people who voted that were black in the 2004 election, and again in the 2008 election. 2004 - 13% of registered black voters went to the polls. 2008 - 83% of registered black voters went to the polls. You cannot, in good faith, say that it wasn't motivated by race. Blacks also accounted for 20% of his total votes, so by your logic, if they were discounted, he loses. 15% of his votes also came from Hispanics. Democrats better hope the Republican candidate does not pick Rubio as a running mate, or he loses all those. If the ticket is Herman Cain/Marco Rubio? Well then he can forget it. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 11:51:48 AM "People only voted for him because he's black" is true because "He carried 95% of black voters."? How about "People only voted for him because he's a genius" -> "He carried 85% of the PhD voters". And you're the one claiming lies? He would have won even if you discounted ALL black voters. He carried the white vote. He carried the Hispanic vote. He carried the female vote. He carried EVERY vote EXCEPT specifically White males over 65. So, John McCain only got any votes because he's old? The above, is applying your logic to any other measure. "The Republicans only say it when it's true" is bullpoo. They say it when convenient. As the above demonstrates, because you AREN'T saying any of the above. You're only picking the one you think you'll get away with. |

Monday, July 18, 2011 11:18:39 AM @Lillian: "You're only voting for him because he's black" <----- Republicans only said that when it was TRUE! That is not a racist statement. He carried 95% of black voters. Why? Moving on. @Machida: "I don't follow american polictics much, but aren't the Tea Party Movement just a bunch of racists reacting to Obama?" <--- No. @bliznik: "has everything to do with their platform and how well they interview." <---- Doesn't matter if their entire platform is a lie. Good interviewers get a job at McDonald's. Liars (On the scale of Obama) should never be elected.
