Friday, July 15, 2011 7:33:50 AM MechBFP: I can't help that your Canadian government more heavily taxes fuel there. Btw, That fuel is likely refined here in the USA. That still doesn't change the fact that when Bush left office gasoline was $1.80 a Gal. and it's now twice that amount 2-1/2 years later. |

Friday, July 15, 2011 6:39:01 AM Oh wow CrakrJak, a whopping $3.50 a gallon? How DEVASTATING that must be. Oh wait, my bad, everyone else in the whole pays at least $4.69 per gallon. Idiot. |

Friday, July 15, 2011 12:17:06 AM Gerry: No republican, that I know of, has called for totally eliminating social security or veteran's benefits, What they called for was for those benefits to be 'means tested'. In other words, Why should millionaires be receiving social security or veteran's checks ? Now does that really sound so awful ? Especially after Obama said himself that millionaires "Should be paying more of their own share". |

Thursday, July 14, 2011 11:48:09 PM Crakr - and the republicans want to just get rid of "the 3rd rail" so what's your point? Were's the win in all this? There is one. Its a race to the bottom no matter which party-of-thieves is running the show. I just think Obama will come out of this one looking better. It's all for show |

Thursday, July 14, 2011 11:38:12 PM Gerry: If Obama makes do on his threat, and I sincerely do not think he has the balls to do it, and doesn't pay the veteran's, ans social security checks there will be riots. The torches and pitchforks will come out and he will take the blame for that action no matter how he and his fellow democrats try to spin it. Everyone knows that the stimulus bill was a load of crap, It was a kickback to Obama's democrat union supporters and didn't create any jobs, except for some temporary census workers. Unemployment is still over 9%, more than 12% in most big cities, The avg. price per gal. of gasoline is still over $3.50, Energy bills are skyrocketing, and Obama wants another TRILLION DOLLARS in new taxes ??! He's committing political suicide, threatening to touch "The 3rd rail of American Politics" will not win him a second term as president. |

he gave in to every concession the republican wanted and cut almost 4 trillion in spending {some news sources say 3 trillion} But when he asked for 1 concession {get rid of tax breaks to billionairs} the republitards won't budge. Not a huge fan of Obama, but he'll win this one.

Thursday, July 14, 2011 12:02:26 PM He's threatened to not pay people's Social Security and Veteran's checks if a deal is not reached. And he's holding a $35,000 a plate birthday dinner in Chicago the day after, for his birthday. I'm guessing he never heard of Marie Antoinette. |
