This... makes sense.

Honestly, the original sounded like a pooty TMBG to begin with... so it's only right that they would perform the song properly.

Plus, John Linnell rocking the KP3 for the live vocal manipulations FTMFW.

Wye Oak's cover of Danzig - Mother is much better.

Nice participation. This is kinda like baseball: fun to play but not what you would prefer to watch. Nice job nontheless.

Hummm, big white box? Ah there's a link underneath!
They Might Be Giants are grrreat! I  them, really I do!
This is a terrific cover. It's nice to see when a band puts "their touch" on a song rather than a "note perfect" copy!

GOOD: Yes covering "America"
BAD: GNR covering "Sympathy For The Devil"

tedgp, maybe if they did a better job with the lyrics or song construction it wouldn't have been such a "pop" song. I'm sure in the liner notes or from band interviews they spoke more of the meaning and importance of the song. But the fact is, the song itself is pure pop and devoid of any significance.

Tedgp. Everyone likes a song whatever the meaning is. The lyrics might mean something different for me or you. Thats the best thing about music. If you are looking for the one and only meaning of a song i feel bad for you.

I hate to break this to people from across the pond, but NO ONE in America knows what that song is about, or cares. It's just a fun song about getting drunk, getting knocked down, and getting back up again. With Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary just for good measure. And I thought that was a pretty good cover, as cover's go. The guy on the piano shouldn't try to sing, though.

Loved the song the first time around and love it even more now!

I bet you do. Since you obviously have no clue of the meaning of it. And treat it like every other pop song you hear.

Meh... just like Starbucks, it just wasn't that good. Community Coffee House Mochassippis are much, much better than Frappuccinos.
