Thanks for pointing that out. The link here was updated to the dailymail. As it was previously linking to the story I had read on a Times of India website that only used a first name.
I guess the story could be real after all. Maybe I've just spent too much time on the internet as I tend to doubt anything I see now a days. |

Kidney stone? That doesn't require a transplant.
All in all, it's no more tragic than any other suicide, sad because she was 12, but her reasons were idiotic. |

Did anyone else notice that in the title of the article the girl is 12, and a couple paragraphs down she's a high school student?

That's a terrible story.
But why would you decide on poisoning, if the whole aim is to donate your internal organs? Pick something that doesn't risk damaging them.
Um I read this story a few days ago and even the comments at that time were calling fake. It's completely unverifiable with no full names.
The girl's full name is given in the second sentence.
Mumpy Sarkar, 12 years old, lived in Jhorpara, West Bengal, went to Farmer's Association School in Baranberia. Father Mridul Sarkar, labourer in Nadia. Mother, Rita Sarkar. One brother, Monojit, one sister, Monica.
Should be enough to check the truth of it. |
