on the topic of multiplayer: TES doesn't need it. it never has, and never will. if you want an MMO, play WoW and leave the good games to the adults.
online multiplayer is killing games. do you know how hard it is to find a good split screen co-op game these days? online gaming was fun for a time, but now its s hit. |

I think that multiplayer doesn't necessarily ruin a game by itself, but what does ruin a game is the now common practice of making what is essentially a SP game into a MP game or of making a MP game and still selling it as a SP game. In short, screwing up the SP aspect of the game.
I understand why it's done. Making a SP game requires more time, more creativity and more money. You need to create stories, characters, coherent worlds. It's inherently much more difficult and much more expensive. It won't appeal to the hordes of wankers who can't follow a story let alone play a part in one and who just want to screw things up for players while unsulting them. Why bother if your primary motive is profit? Better to make it MP for the hordes of wankers.
Bethesda are old school creative artists and want to make a game with a story, with characters, with a plot, etc. So it's better for them to make a SP game. |

I hated Oblivion and Morrowind. Too much running around. It gets boring fast. The arena was pretty sweet while it lasted, though. I'm more excited for Battlefield 3. This is a really cool advertisement, though. |

@obeydarklord Fallout 3 is a different genre of game you brain dead twat. All I remember is everyone I know got Oblivion when it came out and it only lasted a week because it couldn't be LAN'ed. So yeah, I'll check it out, but I won't be wasting my money until I see that its worthy.

Damn you. I had several friends who liked Oblivion and we scoured the net to find a way to fight each other in real time. It never happened.
Multiplayer would improve this game dramatically, beyond what it's at already.
the competitive gamer, the kind to trash talk and spoil the mood and generally act like wankers.
That does nothing to the game itself. You're still free to play SP all you want.
With all the time they're putting into this I wouldn't be surprised if there was mutli. |
