Saying he made it worse means it's worse. He couldn't have said he made it worse but it's really better. He was saying it is worse and laid the blame on Obama. But being a typical politician he had to lie and say he didn't say that. |

no @tekinette, you're completely right, somehow the whole American political system has turned into a show. Most of the politicians just put on a tap dance to make the people ooo and aaah, but when it comes down to it the only thing they care about the big corporations and the millionaires, not the actual people....it makes me sick |

From an outsider point of view, most politicians in the US really seem to give speechs like if they were talking to retards... Always vague, no facts, no clear ideas etc... Just point out that you believe the other guy is doing bad and you'll do better... (about the economy anyways, not the gay mariage, abortion etc)
The most obvious ones were Bush and the childish stuff like "if you're not with us you're with the terrorists" and Palin talking about the economy in general.
I hope I'm wrong but that's what I usually hear when I listen to some speechs from time to time. |

People hanging on others' every word trying to catch them up doesn't solve anything, I knew what he meant by it, he's not all that of a crooked weaseling man like most politicians, and these reporters show that sometimes you have to be one to keep a job.

All you need to do is to examine yesterday's 12 Week Jobs Report (The measure of equalibrium in the job market). The U.S. needs to create 2 million jobs, every month over the next 10 years just to get back to 2007 employment level. That doesn't make for a nice little sound byte. I am not assigning blame, but you are kidding yourselves if you don't think that the U.S. economy is f*cked. |

The reporter thinks the economy is improving? Sheesh yet the treasury says we are one month from defaulting.
Second- this dumb ass reporter doesn't understand that unemployment is higher. This is in large part statistics on how many are filing for unemployment. Most of the unemployed are no longer filing because they are out of extensions. She need to quit smoking crack.
All you basically have to do is get out of your little world and observe. Businesses closing or laying off. Lack of patrons in establishments spending money. Lack of tax revenue from such due to families cutting back. Forcing states to cut back in personnel and services. It's an obvious trickle down effect due to unemployment. Some of you IABer's are in self denial of reality. Yes the king has new clothes! Just look at Greece as a fore-runner of things to come.
Japan once promised that the people will have a job for life. Yeah right! Well that was a load of crap. |

Bush: 5% -> 8% in his last year, with all his economic policies having 7 years already in place.
Obama: 8% -> 10% in the first, then down to 9%.
At the end of Bush you were losing 1.4 million jobs per month. At the end of Obama's first year, you were gaining 200K per month.
That demonstrates the health of the economy and whether it is worse or better. The final unemployment figure demonstrates a collective of past decisions.
(You're still gaining jobs but unemployment is steady due to more people coming into working age, leaving college, etc).
This is the equivalent of driving off a cliff, changing drivers mid fall, and blaming the new driver for the last 20 feet.

Unemployment statistics only include those on unemployment, they do not include people on welfare or the homeless, so real unemployment is always much higher at least 15% |

Obama will get re-elected.
here is why:
1. The economy has improved somewhat...not greatly but enough to keep people from hating Obama.
2. The republicans messed up good with Bush and his group and people are not quick to forget what happened under their total leadership in all three branches of gov.
**3. Most importantly, the republicans have NO ONE worth voting for, or even mentioning for that matter. All they have are two truly stupid female candidates, one truly stupid black candidate, and a host of "been there and failed before" white candidates.

Unemployment was 7.6% when Obama took office; it's just over 9% now. He was technically right the first time. The stock market has rebounded but the jobs aren't coming back. Even though the recession is technically over, it's not for people with no jobs. If nothing improves, Obama won't get re-elected. |
