Wednesday, June 29, 2011 7:28:30 AM It was *very* much influenced by BSG. The handheld camera look, quick zooms, the lighting, even the ship designs. Still... better than I could do. |

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 6:52:45 AM Looks pretty amateurish to be honest, compared to some things out there now. hell, check anything done by Blur studios

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 5:06:51 AM The quality of the 'human' motion on this is some of the best I've seen. BTW phoneybone, it's 3D, the data stored for the CG refers to 3 dimensions, it's just being projected onto a 2D plane for a standard screen. |

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 2:41:16 AM [rant] Can we stop calling stuff done with computer animation "3D" please? It's not 3D, it's 2D, you're watching it on a 2D screen, it's not holographic, it's not even simulating 3D like movies and some tv's. Call it "CG" or "computer animation" or whatever, just not 3D. It just gives the impression of 3D. Ok. [/rant] |

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 12:49:17 AM No, this isn't a Mass Effect 3 promo, however as cobra said, I don't doubt that it was an inspiration. The little "Autopilot" button in particular looked very similar to something out of Mass Effect. I also saw similarities with Halo in certain camera shots, as well as Dead Space in the protagonist's general design. |

Tuesday, June 28, 2011 5:30:20 PM Can somebody subtitle it? I got unit 55 and something about transferring something...but that's it. Otherwise, I was hooked. I'm guessing the guy who made it is hoping some studio exec would be hooked too. Here's hoping. |

Tuesday, June 28, 2011 5:20:55 PM this has nothing to do with mass effect directly, although its possible it was an inspiration (ive never played). This is a student made film from ArtFX schools. It's a short, and from what I have found there is nothing else planned to follow up on it. too bad. |
