Billy Mays was famous for selling OxiClean products in the states...on late night infomercials and QVC shop at home. He was characterized for his loud, deep and excitable voice. He would be known as the king of late night Pitch Men.
Why wouldn't Europe know about Billy Mays? Sadly, OxiClean never took off in the UK. It's a sodium percarbonate based cleaner (white powder + water = miracle cleaning solution). You can use this on cotton and synthetic fibers, which was mostly clothing and carpeting. However, as it turns out, in the UK many homes had wool carpeting. OxiClean + Wool = destroyed carpets. Oxiclean never really took off in the European markets...thus no late night Billy Mays infomercials.
