Friday, June 24, 2011 3:42:35 PM DShephard, watch the rest of the video. They were saying that without "slosh control" it was difficult to drive forward. But to keep it fun it looks like you can toggle the control on and off. |

Thursday, June 23, 2011 4:54:49 PM They said it was difficult to drive forwards, yet they made it be able to go up to 40 km/hr? I don't know you fast that is in mph, and since I can't find a calculator, I'll just complain about it more. Looks fun as hell, though, I want one after I get my self-balancing unicycle. |

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 5:38:53 PM It would be a fun toy to play with for a while if you're rich enough for the cost to be a trivial amount to you. Other than that, it's just a cumbersome and difficult to control mobility scooter. |

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 5:22:32 PM I just can't WAIT to see the videos of people rolling helplessly downhill in one of these. At least with a Segway you stop when you faceplant. |

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 5:05:41 PM @EgalM They have pretty surely used such a technology. The gyro sensors are only measurement tools, that are used to implement a certain set of controls. And none of the controls can hold the inner frame perfectly still, the controller only acts on disturbances. This is also the reason why you have to lean forward to speed up on a Segway. Then the controller tries to become faster so that the whole construction does not fall over. But even on a Segway you don't remain in the same position all the time. You move to tell it in which direction to go. |

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 2:47:53 PM Don't they make gyro stabilizers just for this sort of thing? As it is it would make some people sick, anyone with any kind of motion sickness anyways. Otherwise looks like a blast as a toy. |
