The story behind the voicemail is that she was warned two times before they kicked her out. And yes the theaters can be dark sometimes, like any theater, and using the phone to see isn't bad. but its the texting that got her kicked out. Ive given out tons of rain checks for other movies at alamo for different reasons (other disruptive people) but not rude customers.

First of all, its common f*cking courtesy to turn off your phone. Movie theaters are not that dark. Open your eyes. Second, why are you paying money to see a movie just so you can text the whole time? Moron. |

The Alamo Drafthouse is a great theater. It's the kind of theater where you can enjoy good, real food along with beer/wine. They also have a no children policy too, which is nice for people who don't want to HAVE THEIR MOVIE INTERRUPTED.
And ZiggZagg - have you ever been in a dark theater when someone decides to use their phone for whatever reason? All of a sudden that little phone turns into a goddamn search and rescue beacon that is impossible to ignore. So I highly doubt that she didn't disturb anyone.
Just because you paid to go or be somewhere, doesn't give you the right to be a jackass. |

Isn't there a message to turn off your damn phone before the movie in the major theaters? There is in Canada anyways, so there's no excuse not to know here. Somehow I doubt she got kicked out for using it like a flash light. |

Well, if it wasn't specified on any signs that you can't actually TAKE OUT YOUR PHONE INSIDE, it's not really her fault. And, come on, she was using her phone as a flashlight... Didn't disturb anyone... what's the big deal? |

Lol, I live in Houston and this is totally how Austinites are. Freaking entitled pricks. Everyone's so pretentious there. Anyway, she was in Texas, so she's lucky they didn't blow her away with a shot gun rather than just escort her bratty ass out of the theater. You know, because we all have guns here. xCYBERDYNEx, I have never been to Texas either and you don't ever have to worry about seeing this non-nice individual in your 'whole other country'. You do know that Texas is on the news, in movies, in print and to most people in the world, it is not a desirable place to visit. The stereotypes are there for a reason. |

I go to the cinema when I know the f*cking teenagers are in school or not on "date night". Calling someone out for texting/talking on the phone during a movie is something I have done (& will continue to do) but it makes me bitchy & who wants that? Well, actually, my husband loves the angry sex later, though, so there's the silver lining. |

I hate people who text in the theater during the movie, once in a while if is IMPERATIVE That I text I will put the phone down low in my lap and block out as much light as I can with my body so nobody can see the light but me.
I hate all these teenage girls leaned back in their seats with the phones up in their faces annoying the hell out of me.
They should reserve the back row for anyone who wants to text. |

So, which was it? Using the phone as a flashlight, or texting? Cause those are two very different things. If she was thrown out for texting, then OK. If she hadn't even made it to her seat yet, then the theater people were just being douchebags.
Also, what kind of name is Alamo Drafthouse? Thought someone got thrown out of a bar for texting before I started the video up. |

If Alamo Drafthouse open up around here, I might start going to the cinema again.
I haven't been for a while because it's full of annoying gits who aren't really watching the film themselves and make it less enjoyable for other people. That makes it not worth the money. I'll just rent the film later and watch it in comfort without anyone bothering me. |
