I don't think his employers/coworkers told him his business shut down. It didn't show any of them, and there was that for lease sign on the wall. Lol, they probably just left that floor alone to screw with him. |

Jeff isn't a hero, or brave. He's just another human being existing the best way he can. And he does it well...

Thought-provoking stuff. Imagine waking up in the morning and deliberately keeping your eyes closed throughout the entire day... sh*t, I think I'd get as far as the bathroom before pussying out and sneaking a peek at what the hell I was doing. Except a blind person can't.

That's sad I think. Good for him though for continuing life. I think I would kill myself if I ever went blind, I don't know. just think about it, no more looking at girls, looking at porn, looking at anything? That sucks and it is sad but congrats to this guy for being brave and getting through each day. |

In downtown Toronto (where he works) lights on busy intersections beep or chirp when it is safe to cross. It sounds different depending which was you want to cross. I always wondered how much a blind person would actually need those, or if they can do fine without them. Wish he would have mentioned it.
Also, Union Station...*shudder*. Crowded from 5AM to midnight. |

Legally, I am classified as blind.
I think I see just enough to function.
I have 0 depth perception.
And no far sight.
Everything I look at has to be right next to my face. Yet somehow, no one knows I can't see until I tell them. |

I accidentally clicked this "Audio narrative" option on the Tron Legacy DVD the other week without noticing it. Hadn't seen it before hand as I usually just wait for Netflix and what not, and I didn't notice I had done this till about ten minutes in. Listening to The Man explain how he's reading a book to his kid was somewhat soothing.
I liked the option. Try it sometime with a newer DVD. |

@planty yes this guy is completely awesome, but I would never hold it against a blind a person that collects a disability check. That has to be an unimaginably hard lifestyle and not everyone has what it takes to do what this man has accomplished. |

Very interesting. I love that he is such a high functioning individual with such a dominant disability. If I were blind... man, I don't even know...
jamesboxy: What kind of safety and regs was he disregarding? (I'm genuinely curious, not being a dick) I've done some work with blind children before, and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with this vid. |
