i have called the police a couple times on people who have done this. nobody has ever wrecked right in front of me, but a few cars merged without looking and nicked cars, as well as just swerving dangerously in general. i followed one drunk driver for about an hour, because i felt like he was going to hurt someone, and even though i called the police twice they didn't show. i hope they were already arresting a drunk, because that one sure as hell got away :( |

Just this weekend I watched a kid die after bein hit by a car, in the middle of the street and noone could help him...2 blocks from a f*kin Hospital might I add.... This is sad!

No that guy was impaired or suffering some sort of attack, nobody keeps texting after almost driving off the road and into traffic a few times first. He just got progressively worse and couldn't seem to re-find center. |

I'll wait until a stop sign or light to text. I've actually pulled over to text, too. I just can't manipulate the phone and my steering wheel at the same time. It's not a coordination issue, it's just the position of the steering wheel and its size. That, and there's nothing happening outside of my truck that's more important than driving. |

No proof of texting and driving but I work for the coroners office and I see it all the time. Unfortunately there are are usually multiple victims in these types of accidents. As others have already said, don't record this crap, call the cops. |

it seemed more like a drink driver than a driver texting
also it wasn't terrifying, he just swerved off into a field. i mean sure it could have ended worse, but terrifying is not the right word |

"people make mistakes" This isn't a mistake, unless you have been living under a rock you know that using your phone and driving is dangerous. If he killed himself doing so that would be one less idiot in the world, but what if he killed say a father, a mother, a family, how many people would have to "learn" from that mistake? i dare say enough people learned from that mistake to make it illegal in the first place. I think it's sickening to see idiots like that toy with other people's lives and not get sent to jail. |
