Thursday, May 26, 2011 7:01:13 AM Whyner73 That would be (1) a lie (lower than the peak, yes. Lower than the average, no) and (2) the spike that happened with a Democrat Congress, I assume you mean? Of course the then-President's response was to allow more drilling, which immediately suppressed prices in anticipation. This President, not so much. |

Thursday, May 26, 2011 2:19:15 AM If you actually took the time to do 1 minute of research you will find in the summer of 2008 when BUSH was president the average price of gas was higher than it is now. But why bother to research when you can just further try and find an excuse to hate obama. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 9:22:03 PM Ah, the excuses begin to flow! "It's just procedure!" YEAH! To "proceed" to bring it to an actual vote, DUH! (after jumping through various hoops of course!) And if failed 0-97 ZERO YES = President "Zero" lolz! And feel free to ignore all my other points while you attack a strawman, it's what you (and @Baalthy) do best @madest! |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 9:11:04 PM I would explain to you why your argument is as foolish as a procedural vote to move forward on the president's plan. But you wouldn't understand it because you're Canadian. So I'll save my breath. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 8:51:13 PM 5 Repubs vote against their own plan (which was doomed to fail since there's a Dem majority, eh?) = BAD ALL 50+ Dems VOTE AGAINST OBAMA'S plan (which is the defacto Dem plan since they offer nothing) = GOOD It's so easy, even a liberal can do it! Um, in fact that's all the liberals CAN do... Repubs offer a plan = BAD Dems offer no plan = GOOD Get it yet @madest? Didn't think so... |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 8:47:28 PM vv @Gerry1of1, that is EXACTLY what the Dems have done, haven't you been paying attention? DEMS AND REPUBS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Yet idiots like @madest view the world through pink-o coloured glasses and see one side as pure good and one side as pure evil. Bush keeps Gitmo open? EVIL Obama keeps Gitmo open? GOOD See? It's easy to be a hyperpartisan fool, just ask @madest! |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 8:44:41 PM Paul Ryan's plan which seems to be toxic for republicans. Only 5 republicans in the Senate voted against the Ryan plan Hey @madest, how did President Obama's plan go? What was the vote on that? 0-97. http://tinyurl.com/3au2tzq What about the Senate vote for the Democrat budget plan? OH WAIT! They don't have one!!! Your selective "editing" of reality is even more appalling than your economic ignorance, @madest. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 7:34:56 PM Wow, it's a good thing we argue about these things in the IAB comments section. Otherwise, how else would they be solved? Oh, wait... |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 7:16:52 PM Only 5 republicans in the Senate voted against the Ryan plan. Which means 42 republican Senators voted to dismantle Medicare and hand out vouchers instead. The first victim of the Ryan Plan was Kathy Hochul, who lost her solidly red district (NY26) last night in a landslide. Even though she did her damnedest to run away from her vote. Too late honey, she was beaten by facts and her own actions. Good luck to those 42 republican Senators and all the congressmen on record in support of the Ryan plan. I know they'll be brow beaten come election time. Nobody is better at helping democrats than a republican! Oh one more thing. The Tea Party candidate got a mere 9% of the vote. They are not a force. They're just loudmouth rabble rouser's who don't know squat. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 6:19:55 PM duffy: We are subsidizing 'green energy' and 'big oil' companies applied for those subsidies just as other companies have to build windmills, solar energy, and bio-fuels. madest failed to inform people that's what the subsidies are actually for, because liberals love to rant against 'big oil' no matter what. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 5:54:04 PM madest: You need to take into consideration that the senate is still held by the democrats and Obama threatened to veto it, before it even came up for a vote. The vote was 57-40 and only 5 republicans voted against it, Those 5 saying said the bill didn't cut spending near enough. Another madest fail, on the facts. |

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 5:40:02 PM CrakrJak, Yes. And your ill informed about Paul Ryan's plan which seems to be toxic for republicans. The Senate recorded their vote today, they now have a limited amount of time to take it back or apologize to constituents in order to keep their jobs. |
