Of course the then-President's response was to allow more drilling, which immediately suppressed prices in anticipation. This President, not so much. |

If you actually took the time to do 1 minute of research you will find in the summer of 2008 when BUSH was president the average price of gas was higher than it is now. But why bother to research when you can just further try and find an excuse to hate obama. |

5 Repubs vote against their own plan (which was doomed to fail since there's a Dem majority, eh?) = BAD
ALL 50+ Dems VOTE AGAINST OBAMA'S plan (which is the defacto Dem plan since they offer nothing) = GOOD
It's so easy, even a liberal can do it! Um, in fact that's all the liberals CAN do...
Repubs offer a plan = BAD
Dems offer no plan = GOOD

Only 5 republicans in the Senate voted against the Ryan plan. Which means 42 republican Senators voted to dismantle Medicare and hand out vouchers instead. The first victim of the Ryan Plan was Kathy Hochul, who lost her solidly red district (NY26) last night in a landslide. Even though she did her damnedest to run away from her vote. Too late honey, she was beaten by facts and her own actions. Good luck to those 42 republican Senators and all the congressmen on record in support of the Ryan plan. I know they'll be brow beaten come election time. Nobody is better at helping democrats than a republican! Oh one more thing. The Tea Party candidate got a mere 9% of the vote. They are not a force. They're just loudmouth rabble rouser's who don't know squat. |

madest: You need to take into consideration that the senate is still held by the democrats and Obama threatened to veto it, before it even came up for a vote. The vote was 57-40 and only 5 republicans voted against it, Those 5 saying said the bill didn't cut spending near enough.

CrakrJak, Yes. And your ill informed about Paul Ryan's plan which seems to be toxic for republicans. The Senate recorded their vote today, they now have a limited amount of time to take it back or apologize to constituents in order to keep their jobs. |
