Saturday, May 21, 2011 8:36:59 AM Yes, to the Ikea disorientation! I went to a HUGE one in Edmonton and within 20 mins of wandering I was so disoriented and nauseous that I was absolutely desperate to find a window just so I could mentally re-orient myself. (Found a small one in a corner on the 2nd floor). If I hadn't found that window, they'd have been cleaning up my puke. On the other hand I also have a legendary LACK of sense of direction and get motion sick so very, very easily... |

Saturday, May 21, 2011 12:32:04 AM I've never been an impulse buyer, occasionally something will catch me, but my one friend is the epitome of impulse buying, the random junk they put up at registers were put there just for her. |

Friday, May 20, 2011 4:54:57 AM I hate malls, because of to many people, to much noise and crying babies. The only time I use my wallet is when I need food, but I only buy the cheapest food like tin cans and big frozen packages of fish and vegetable. the avrg cost of my diner is 5.4 dollars with is extremely cheap in my country where the avrg people eat for 25.5 dollars and the last time I bought new clothing was last year and it was because it was on 75% sale... no I don't look like a hobbo, I look like the avrg guy without buying 1000 dollars of clothing. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 11:15:05 PM Apparently the malls have never taken on my wife. They broke the mold on "penny pincher" when she was born. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 1:05:28 PM @evanbartlett - I agree. When I have to go to a mall, my resistance to this makes me depressed and many times I leave without buying anything. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 12:09:07 PM The aspects intended to force me into a store and away from the central corridor are the very same aspects that keep me away from the mall all together. |

Why go to a mall? Anything I want is much cheeper at WalMart. Except movies. I go to the drive in for those. mall movies are WAY too spensive |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 11:05:11 AM Nothing really like the overgate in Dundee, with and entire side of the building a clear-glass window. Fair enough it looks onto a church... |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 10:59:57 AM I haven't been to a mall in ten years. They creep me out, sucks the humanity right out of you. There is a reason that a mall is the classic zombie venue. |

Oystah - "I have never been to an Ikea. I think I'm glad" First you think, "this stuff is nice. And so Affordable!" Then you're like "where's kitchen? I can't find Kitchen suff." Then you're "All I want is a stupid wooden spoon!" You find the wooden spoon, but when you look there is no exit! You can't go back, no registers. You ask a Sales person who points you to a Short Cut but it leads back to an area you have already seen. Hours later you find the registers and you bag your own stuff so I hope you didn't pick up anything heavy. NOW the fun starts. Barriers are set up just outside the exit. You cannot take the cart or your purchase farther than 20 feet. You have to leave your stuff there and go get your car. You wait in line with the other cars hoping no one stole your stuff and burning expensive gas. FINALLY you can get your stuff. No one to help load. |
