Thursday, May 19, 2011 11:12:27 PM And they call me paranoid for not storing anything personal on the internet... and seriously why did you even give them your credit card number when it's free? this sounds like those "YOU WON GET YOU FREE PRICE NOW" scams. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 7:01:05 AM Here's what Sony owes us. They owe us a system that will be protected from hackers. A system that pushes game updates to registered users would be nice, so if by chance they're crippled for weeks on end your old games will be playable. It would be nice if they didn't randomly blame Anonymous simply because they have a bone to pick with them. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 4:51:15 AM I still don't understand why Sony stored our credit card numbers on their servers. Caching them on the PS3 is handy for repeated purchases etc, but why store them in Sony's servers? When the payment is complete, they have no use for it anymore. And no, they don't owe me anything for closing their free services a while. |

Thursday, May 19, 2011 12:17:59 AM just gonna try the pro-sony side here -credit card info stolen was (supposedly) encrypted so not really worried there (and have yet to see any untoward charges on my c-card so think i'm good). Also, most banks, BOA for example, has a pretty good fraud detection system; found that out first hand when someone hacked my account (unrelated to this incedent)...good times. -sony is giving pretty good amends considering this wasn't their fault. They were attacked; it'd be like blaming your bank for being robbed. No one does that, so why all the blame on Sony, how about some blame on the attackers which I have not heard nearly enough of. Sony is giving, for free, 2 ps3 games and 2 psn games (granted, older games, but still good titles, infamous and LBP to name two) and they really don't need to do this, but they are, so kudos to them. -and lastly, silver lining to being hacked, now they know about their security holes so they'll be all nice and plugged up. Ok i'm done |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 2:09:44 PM OWE? I don't know. I do know that many of my expensive games are online only and needless to say, they've been paper weights for the last month. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 1:49:53 PM I like the fact they're offering me free games, and the only really outrageous thing about it was that a lot of people's information was compromised. I feel more sorry for games like SOCOM and Brink. Oh, and the annoyance about (still) not being able to play Portal 2 co-op. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 1:08:06 PM Sony owes me nothing unless some charges happen on my card, which I suspect will not happen as my card had been deactivate prior to the hack. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 12:48:53 PM I don't really think they OWE you anything, but I'd say they would probably be best to give you something anyway (maybe some free DLC), just to make people feel like they we re paid, a lot of people will be cautious about signing up that's for sure, Yeah those people will miss out on what ever DLC comes out but for every DLC not bought it's potential money not made. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 11:35:37 AM @SunnyNphilly - a lot of people don't have their CC #'s on file with PSN. If you can't even look at the apple store without a CC# what does that tell you. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 11:14:08 AM PSN being offline isn't the problem, the theft of private info is what they needed to compensate for. Sony doesn't owe me anything for losing a few weeks of a FREE service. They don't even owe me the free games and subscriptions they're giving out to all their customers since I never used my CC for PSN but thanks anyway, Sony. |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 9:32:04 AM Of course people have the right to bitch about this giant f-up. If the network was just down then people could still claim that they bought a ps3 so they could play online and as they couldn't do that they would be annoyed.... BUT the network isn't just down, sony were given peoples trust to keep private banking details safe and now peopple are being defrauded, how anyone can claim that people dont have the right to be pissed about that is beyond me. Luckily for me none of this effects me as i own an eggbox |

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 9:05:48 AM People have no right to bitch about the PSN network being down. It's free, WTP do you expect? Now, when XBL gets hacked, then we have the right to bitch. I don't pay Microsoft (yet more money...) to have a sh-tty....wait, yes I do. Nevermind...like the guy said, I NEED to be called a fag by a ten year old. |
