Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:50:28 PM xiquiripat, the fact that Americans are misinformed is not the fault of Fox News. The article you cited admitted that viewers of other networks did not fare much better. People in general like to make up facts to support their belief system, whether they watch CNN or Fox News. My television is on Fox News all day, every day, and I am not ashamed to say it. Most of the programming is actually legitimate news. The most watched shows are opinion programs like Hannity, and everything Hannity says, you have to take with a grain of salt. A lot of conservatives do not, and they can pretty easily make fools of themselves by attempting to replicate his positions without actually knowing the facts. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:47:10 PM To quote someone brighter than myself, " I go to Comedy Central for my news and Fox News for my comedy." And I can't get in the White House. Hell, I just wanna tell a couple of dirty jokes. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:40:26 PM Considering that people who watch fox news are consistently less knowledgeable about current events than people who watch Stewart or anything else really shows the sad state of fox "news" Here And Here |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:34:43 PM RETARDEDBEAR, nubbins was not saying that The Daily Show and The Colbert Report were legitimate sources of information. She was saying that Fox News has become so ridiculously that even two comedic shows can be taken far more seriously. And this belief is not disturbing if it's well-founded. And personally, I believe it is. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:29:17 PM retardedbear, thanks for the headsup, im watching now. but, when i see o'reilly in interviews, he more often starts interrupting the guest whenever they say something he doesnt agree with. like while stewart kept jabbing in his facts and views, o'reilly tried to stop him over an over again. but, these two do have a mutual respect, so he didnt f*ck with him as much as he does other guests. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:23:35 PM WeePee, Stewart never claims to be a news show. He always points out that he is just a comedy show. It just so happens that many people get their news from the Daily Show because he covers current topics and so entertaining. If you have an opinion either way, you can vote as to who won this debate on billorilley.com |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:19:26 PM "This is why I take The Daily Show and The Colbert Report more seriously than Fox News." The fact that you think comedy programs are a more reliable source of information than the most popular cable news network is disturbing. The liberal powers that be have really done a good job of tricking their flock into ignoring information that comes from an 'undesirable' source. Undesirable, because it presents views which are contrary to the liberal line of thought, not because it is illegitimate. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:02:37 PM "im surprised o'reilly actually let him get a point out without continuously interrupting him. i mean, he tried, but i know he could have put in more work to make sure stewart didnt get a point out." O'Reilly interrupts his guests when they try to take command. People ignore his question and try to push out their talking points, so he interrupts them and forces them back on topic. Jon was respectful, so O'Reilly had no need to interrupt. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 4:52:10 PM From the article you cited, Baal: "It took eight more years before a federal district court judge in Newark, N.J., finally overturned Carter's conviction, insisting, 'The extensive record clearly demonstrates that the petitioners' convictions were predicated upon an appeal to racism rather than reason, and concealment rather than disclosure.'" |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 4:48:56 PM "Except so did Dylan. So O'Reilly is just wrong. Jon is just right." Common is not Bob Dylan. Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu Jamal are not Rubin Carter. Common supports Shakur because he supports her association with the Black Panthers, Black Liberation Army, etc. Bob Dylan wrote about Rubin Carter because he was actually falsely convicted. There is no evidence that Shakur or Jamal were innocent, instead it is quite the opposite. The evidence is overwhelming against them. Jon's argument is invalid for that reason, even though Bill failed to express it. |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 4:43:54 PM Retarded bear: Here's the second part. Bill O Reilly doesn't do much better. He says the difference is "Common VISITED, WENT TO SEE..." Except so did Dylan. So O'Reilly is just wrong. Jon is just right. The one difference O'Reilly cites is a flat out falsehood. Excluding it, if anything, helps O'Reilly's case. |
