"No, because that is not the only problem with Common. Bill's failure in this interview is allowing Jon to decide the argument. Common has a history of racially provocative and anti-homosexual lyrics. The guy is, in general, controversial. Why invite him to the White House?"

Bob Dylan was incredibly controversial in his prime, "Blowing in the Wind" is an anti government song.. U2's "Bullet in the Sky" is a song that condemns the US for unrest in Central America. Both of these two men are, in general, controversial. Why invite them into the White House?

The message can be seen as such if you take it out of context which is what I suspect you're doing...

"So our discussion is over.
Jon won the debate."

That is ridiculous. I was responding to your claim that:

"so did Dylan. So O'Reilly is just wrong. Jon is just right.

The one difference O'Reilly cites is a flat out falsehood."

That point is completely invalid, because they are NOT the same, as Jon claimed. The fact that O'Reilly was not up to date on Bob Dylan does not mean that Jon was right.

"If these two are acquitted, will you suddenly change your mind about Common being invited to the whitehouse, retroactively stating it was the right thing to do?"

No, because that is not the only problem with Common. Bill's failure in this interview is allowing Jon to decide the argument. Common has a history of racially provocative and anti-homosexual lyrics. The guy is, in general, controversial. Why invite him to the White House?

Stewart understands tides, which gives him an unfair mental advantage over dumbass O'Reilly.

Still on the original topic, this of course assumes your statement of undeniable guilt is true, which it isn't.

So, the case you're making on O'Reilly's behalf, to which Stewart couldn't possibly respond, isn't particularly strong. Especially saying as Dylan visited hurricane before his acquittal, not after.

We can continue to look at the enormous chain of hypocrisy, but I think I'll end with this:
If these two are acquitted, will you suddenly change your mind about Common being invited to the whitehouse, retroactively stating it was the right thing to do?

If not, Jon is correct in that it is *exactly* like the dylan situation.

Retarded bear:
"It is because all they know about Fox News is the clips that The Daily Show chops up and presents as "clear Fox News bias." O'Reilly has called Jon out on it a couple times on his show. His defense, of course, is that his show is just comedy, and he doesn't claim to be honest."

Bullpoo. Bullpoo. Bullpoo. Bullpoo. Bullpoo.

Not his only defense. Not even close, and the only reason you think that is because BILL edited the JON interview to make it seem so. The full one online has this response.

A response which, as always, demands O'Reilly put up or shut up. Full thing available online, not aired.

Back to our original point though retarded bear:

The evidence is overwhelming against them. Jon's argument is invalid for that reason, even though Bill failed to express it.

So our discussion is over.
Jon won the debate.
Bill O Reilly did not make his case.
The title "Jon Stewart owns O'Reilly" is accurate.

That you still agree with the final position is irrelevant to every point and complaint you've raised thus far.

"xiquiripat, the fact that Americans are misinformed is not the fault of Fox News. The article you cited admitted that viewers of other networks did not fare much better."

And yet, somehow, Fox consistently fared the worst. Americans may be misinformed as a rule, but watching fox compounds their ignorance through blatant distortion of the facts. A sad statement for a network claiming to be news station and "fair and balanced". It's not by accident that out of all the terrible news networks out there that people who watch Fox consistently have less idea about what's going on than people who watch something else. So yes, the fact that Americans are misinformed is the fault of Fox News at least as far as the Americans who watch are concerned. It's the job of journalists to correct these misconceptions not perpetuate them. Fox (and others I'll grant you, though fox is the worst) are evidently failing at this and hence can scarcely be considered legitimate journ

Exactly right, if it suits Fox they'll make a huge thing about it but when its the other way round and often worse they'll hide it and say its fine.
