I *just* saw this commercial, and went '...aren't those supposed to tone your butt? What kid is worried about her butt?'

OH NO how dare they promote fitness and proper body shape at a young age OMG?!?!?! "My daughter doesn't need to feel pressure to look a certain way!!" No, she does... Because there is no arguing that being healthy and in shape is the right way to live and look. STFU!

WTF??? These shoes are helping to keep your body straight which will lead to you having lesser backproblems and such at an early stage.

come on, they don't sell them to boys cause boys wouldn't want them, even at 8 years old girls were more concerned about how they looked than boys. only girls would buy these things
some older guys might, but no 8 year old boys gonna want one.

OK, if mommy and daddy wanna complain about little Joanie having body issues over a pair of shoes, and if they are truely concerned about her having self esteem problems, perhaps they should never let her watch t.v ever again, look in magazines, play on the internet, play with barbie dolls, watch the little Disney princess cartoons,or play dressup with that makeup for little girls you can buy in the toy isle,or enter " the little miss Whatever county" at the next fraken county fair, or go to school to interact with other children ( becuase they might make fun of her, and call her ugly names).let's just put her in a little plastic bubble and lock her away from the rest of the world's horrible exposure..as much as some parents would love to put their child in a plastic bubble, Its not reality and thats not how we grow as people and learn to move on in this world.,don't get me wrong it's unfortunate that these things happen however,my point is..If you dont like it dont buy it, ITS

i agree with everyone that says if you dont like something you dont have to get it.

and honestly if this is the first step into making kids not fat as hell im all for it. If kids and parents actually cared about the kids' weight, they wouldnt be taking them to mcdonalds and other places. and then you wouldnt need a reason to actually make these shoes for kids.

It's wishful thinking to believe that just because you don't buy the shoes for your daughter, she won't come home talking about how all her friends have them. The opinions of other kids at school is usualy the cause of low self esteem over body-type anyways.
There is a middle ground between getting these shoes and being unhealthy and overweight. It's called exercising. They invented it back in the 50's. It worked pretty well before these shoes came along.
The main problem I see with these is they arn't intended to help people loose weight. It's intended to develop a womans legs and butt. We don't need seven year olds with sexy butts walking around. Its unnecessary and wierd even to type. See the outrage from the whole child pagent things to get a better picture.

Ok little Suzie, now I want you to grow up with a positive self image. I want you to be happy with yourself, no matter what you look or act like, and not get into those horrible mental diseases like anorexia or bulimia. However I must tell you that the government thinks your height to weight ratio makes you obese. They have taken away your right to have an occasional HappyMeal, because you're obese. I can't send your lunch to school with you because they said it might not be healthy. But you be happy with yourself however you turn out.
Oh, by the way, the WHOLE world thinks you're fat and lazy because you live in the USA.
Have a good day at school .....

Balls to the moral outrage, toned muscle is part of being fit and healthy - I'd be more worried about the means by which the shoes somehow tone leg and ass muscles.
Presumably they alter the person's stance and/or natural gait. Screwing with the way you walk and the way you hold your weight could do some pretty crappy things to your spine.

Well, God forbid we try to promote people being thin/toned and healthy. I forgot that in America if you aren't a size 16 with your stomach hanging over your pants something is wrong with you. Oh and don't even mention wanting to exercise or diet and lose weight, you might have an eating disorder and are just 'being pressured by the media'!

If you don't like the shoes don't buy them.

It's capitalism, if you don't want a product - don't buy it. They won't make it if it doesn't get them money. This fight is just to force corporations to have morality, which they don't. It's silly.
