@smokerrday- are you sure its ignorance and anger you see every day? In memphis, we have the highest murder rate per capita in the u.s., and what i believe i see every day, more than anything else, is fear. poo yourself fear. Everyone is of the notion that in america, everyone is out to get them. So you dont ask anyone what theyre doing, youre afraid to get involved. All that is required for evil to win is for good men to do nothing-unknown(to me-read it in "kingdom of fear," thompsons post-9/11 book) good people, today, are people that do not make any noise. Good people cannot win, because they cannot band together. The criminals are bound tight, thick as thieves has an origin, you know. But the good people will side with evil when a good man stands up to fight. The good men will send you to prison for killing an intruder in your home. The good men will tell you to "let it go" and "dont get involved" i say join with the good troublemakers you know, and ma

the actions of this crowd make me sick. a lot more so than the flag burning guy, and the guy in BDU's is indeed WAY out of line.

in any case i have to refer to a quote usually attributed to Voltaire "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

I can honestly say I hate the USA. It's nothing but fighting and anger anymore. People can't say what they want anymore without others screaming and yelling and saying it's wrong. Does respect not exist anymore? It's pathetic..and sad. America, what happened? ):

The guy wearing BDU's is waaaaaaay out of line.

They dude trying to burn the flag is a tool box desperate for attention.

The crowd is no different than any other mob of primates.

I pretty much loathe everyone in the video except the Police, they're the unwilling, lead by the unqualified, doing the unnecessary for the ungrateful.

Honestly though, if it were my world. I'd let the crowd tear him apart just because he looks funny.

I fight for this man, and do so gladly. And if I saw him shouting, waving placards, burning flags...I'd hand him the match. Because we are both Americans, and Soldier fight, and Die, for his Right to Believe whatever he chooses without fear of persecution

As a Soldier, I have, and will again, fight on foreign soil to protect my country. I find it disturbing to see this video.

Many of those hypocrites would have been shouting "Down With Bush" and burning the flag themselves a few years ago. Now they ride patriotism like they never cheated on it, screaming promises of fidelity. B/c I and my fellow soldiers fight, And Die, for this man's RIGHT to believe and say whatever he chooses, as long as it doesn't harm others. Burning the flag is his Right as an American. The fact that these people tried to stop him tells me that they have no concept of what we fight, bleed and die for. If we stop people from showing what they believe, if we become intolerant to others RIGHTS, we become no better than the enemy we fight who beheads anyone who doesn't agree with them.

I fight for this man, and do so gladly. And if I saw him shouting, waving placards, burning flags...I'd hand him the match. Because we are Americans, and I

Flag burning is always a touchy subject. It's not against the law by any means and is protected by the First amendment. The thing is, a person's spirit shouldn't be encompassed on one fixed object, such as a flag. it should be inside us all. I say let him burn the the piece of cloth; as the American Spirit should be alive within every single American. Is it wrong to burn the flag? morally yes, but not judiciously. I say he's crazy for attempting it, but has all rights to do so, but other people have a right to assemble and speak against it, as long as there is not violence, both sides are right in their actions.

let him burn the flag in protest of whatever. he is more patriotic than the guy that will beat him up for his distasteful expression. lets combat an immature decision with an immature reaction!

@Oscola
Really now and your not brainwashed in your patriotism toward your country?
Fact is you have no comprehension of the different regional cultural dynamics of the USA. Your only talking out of generalization from a limited overseas perspective. Even if you visited the USA for a brief time does not qualify you to make such an absurd assertion.

The U.S. acts as a cult for so many Americans, who then turn on anyone open minded enough to look at things from a different perspective. I'm not saying all Americans are brainwashed, but the people who shout "USA! USA!" need to open their eyes, it's like blindly following a religion or football team and becoming a fanatic even if that organisation ends up representing nothing of what it used to and has no relevance to you as an individual.

Gee, that didnt work out so well. He'll have to try to get attention in some other way. Free speech works both ways.

"The motivation for burning the flag is to force by shock and insult those that might not listen."

Actual result: Normal, sane people think you and your cause are stupid and weird.

Anybody who lives in the developed Western world, and hates their country so much they'd go to all the effort of putting on a big show and burning their flag in front of everbody is a world-class delusional dumbdrat.

They gave him exactly what he wanted. A reaction.

People put too much stock in symbolism. The only thing he accomplished by burning that flag was raising the GDP of China, where the flag was made.
