Tuesday, May 17, 2011 12:34:40 PM "The "Rich" make up 75% of income taxes in the U.S. but they own 90% of the wealth... the middle class has to make up the missing 15% and are overtaxed." Jerry, you need to stop listening to liberal propaganda. Wealth =/= Income. The top tax bracket ("the rich") earn about 20% of the income (not 90%), and pay something like 40% of the taxes. The 90% figure refers to the value of the capital they own, ie, businesses, stocks etc. It's not like they have that much spending money (or anything close to it). Capital isn't something you can just tax, nor does it directly improve the quality of your life. If they tried to liquidate all that wealth (to pay a tax, for example), the value of it would drop to next to nothing. After all, who would be left with enough money to buy it at it's current value? |

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 12:17:22 PM "Make them pay 50% and we wouldn't be discussing the cost of grandmas medicare." Do you just make poo up on the spot? Try some basic math: Top bracket total income = ~$3 Trillion/year Raising top bracket by 15% = ~$400 Billion/year Current Federal deficit = ~$1.5 Trillion/year You're about $1.1 trillion/year short. Plus, you can't even raise taxes on somebody over 60% because you'll hit the peak of the Laffer curve, and your total revenues will start to fall off. If you tax the top bracket at 50%, that's right at 60% once you figure state and local. It's impossible cover our entitlement spending by taxing the rich.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 5:41:25 AM So all that talk of "tax loopholes" is just a distraction: socialists want YOUR money! The top half of US taxpayers already pays 97% of all Fed Tax revenue, period! This is after all those "loop holes" eh? How about: lowering spending! Crazy talk! How about: NOT adding 800 billion to the deficit with Obamacare! Oh noes, Obamacare 'saves money'! lolz! |

Monday, May 16, 2011 11:25:49 PM 12 budlights could easily cost 9 bucks a pop at a high class bar. Personally, that's probably a bargain considering that I pay 7.50 for a budlight at my local baseball stadium. |

Monday, May 16, 2011 10:00:16 PM that cannot be us dollars, has to be some other currency. If that were true, the red bull and other cheap drinks would be practically free. It is overpriced, but even if you factored it down by 10 the total is still significant. I think this was a lump order for some high roller party. |
