Monday, May 16, 2011 11:12:27 AM @BostonKaiser Sure cause you can only make good music with extremely complicated riffs that sound played without feeling and plain tacky. He had a large part in killing 80's c0c|< rock which epitome of what I wrote above that I can appreciate. |

Monday, May 16, 2011 5:46:47 AM If you can't tell, I'm a musician myself. Funny, because the few musicians I know rarely take the stance that "any music I don't like is empirically bad", which is what you're saying. |

Monday, May 16, 2011 2:12:56 AM @Renaud- Go listen to Ladyboy GaGa and drink another glass of man milk ******. You wouldn't know good music if it ****** you in the ear (the one your boyfriend isn't already using). |

Sunday, May 15, 2011 9:21:07 PM @boston Kaiser Oh jesus christ man. Who really cares what you think? Everybody has their own personal prefrence and being a musician myself and loving Nirvana(no i dont play the goddam guitar)music is what you want it to be. Dosent matter if you think he ruined guitar or not. He played HIS way. Just like steve vai and you do. Personally solos are the best thing to happen to rock n roll since well ROCK N ROLL but if you look at rock as a genre, ITS HUGE. Theres so many styles that if you say one is bad becasue you hate it then your just being an non-nice individual. Get over it. He played his own way and did his own thing and he got rich. You play the same style a bazillion other guitar players do. If you love it, thats great! but dont force your pooty views off being a "perfect" musician down on the rest of us. |

Sunday, May 15, 2011 8:39:44 PM Cartoon has been done to death. Nirvana was f*cking awesome! I understand you eccentric hipsters who say he sucked. I mean I'd be jealous to if a drugged-out, HS drop out became famous from playing only two chords while you sit there holding your degree, while rocking back & forth, while tears quietly drip on to the frame your parents bought you to display it. It really surprises me that there weren't more douchey shirtless guitar playing avatars on this post. Sometimes simple is just better, take the theme song to Andy Griffith Show, just whistling. Don't get mad, we still love you crazy obtuse bastards. |

Sunday, May 15, 2011 7:46:24 PM Yes, Corpsecrank, you're right, he did accomplish more than me. He successfully dumbed-down guitar playing to a level that it still hasn't recovered. Gone are the days of Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, and Joe Satriani. Now we get idiots that only play the bottom 2 strings of the guitar in a "drop D" tuning and NEVER solo. Thanks, Kurt! If you can't tell, I'm a musician myself. (see avatar) As such, I obviously could care less about making $$, or I would have studied computer programming in college instead of music. So no, I don't have any sympathy for someone with limited talent that makes it big and feels sorry for himself. And by limited talent I'm referring to his guitar playing, so don't come back with the profound lyrics he wrote. They may have been good, but who could listen to them with his God-awful guitar playing in the background. |
