Tuesday, May 10, 2011 12:02:47 PM This was completely appropriate. Break the same law 4 times, he obviously has a problem with authority or does not have a clue, either way he has proven that he cannot fit in with society...Just because you do not agree with the law does not make it less illegal. Get the law changed, but until then, it is illegal. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 11:43:05 AM @retcon Oh, I know. You legalise weed, you legalise smoking weed. they come hand in hand. Can you show me any stats of the most popular type of taking weed? I'll bert it's through smoking. It doesn't matter. It won't happen. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 11:01:44 AM Insane. A couple of pounds of weed and $1,600? Not exactly Pablo Escobar. How much will this cost the US taxpayer? OK, maybe it's worth it because of, y'know, winning the war on drugs. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:52:05 AM @hatface You are aware that smoking marijuana isn't the only way to take it, right? If not your comment is even more stupid than it looks. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:46:19 AM @kittehdee29- You seem to misunderstand the purpose of rehab. Drug rehab is for people who are addicted to drugs, not for people who like to make their money selling them. I do agree with the premise though- prison should work to rehabilitate people who go there for economic crimes, the goal being to reduce recidivism. However, in the case of this guy, he should walk free. What he was doing shouldn't be a crime to begin with. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:35:50 AM REHAB. IF THEY HAVE A PROBLEM SEND THEM TO REHAB. Seriously, you're gonna give this guy life in prison for being a drug dealer? Send him to rehab where they might actually get to the root of the problem, why he's selling to begin with. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:24:46 AM Marijuana should be legal. If it doesn't significantly hurt others then the government shouldn't be involved. Legalize: prostitution, drugs, gambling, driving without seatbelts, riding without helmets etc.... |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:19:59 AM Yeah drugs for everyone! Yeah! Despite the fact every western country in the world is being lobbied to ban smoking, lets still legalise another form of smoking! Woo! Personal liberties! It gives you super powers! etc etc etc... It's not going to happen guys. Please stop. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:07:27 AM "it is kinda like having masturbating illegal. some people say it's harmless while it's not." *sigh* it pains me to have to ask this in 2011, but WHY is masturbating harmful? |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:02:34 AM it is kinda like having masturbating illegal. some people say it's harmless while it's not. most say they don't partake in it but they do. anyone who says they don't masturbate is lying. |

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 9:58:51 AM give him a fine. That way if he doesn't pay he goes to jail. and if he pays he's free and just has less money for pot and learns his lesson

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 9:45:26 AM What did ever happen to the 8th amendment? Regardless of the guys past record, the conviction here is just for marijuana - that's it. Nothing else, and life? That is so wrong. |

This is politics messing with the justice system. Mandatory sentancing is stupid. Prohibition is stupid. Combining the two is moronic. |
