Everyone's a little bit racist; it's normal. It's not normal to hate a race and not give them a chance, but to percieve someone as different based on race is totally normal.

I believe everyone should act as an ambassador for their race. That's how I treat people of different races; as ambassadors. And I'm sorry, but the more ambassadors from a specific race f*ck up, the harder it is for me to like them. I still give them a chance, but bear in mind, when I think of your race, I'll think of you. Leave a good impression.

I for one give that guy props for saying it like it is rather than how we'd like it to be. An ideal PC world is a joke and will never work in our lifetime. you know why, because there's always going to be low-brow idiots who just don't get it. If you guys truly believe we evolve then there must be some point in evolution when one set is more evolved than the other and thus would make that one set "better" than the other. It doesnt have to be a set race, it can just be the lower and upper half of each race ( the more evolved, and the less evolved), where the upper half would accept each other and the lower half still finds faults. I guess in order for racism to go away, we'd all have to think and act alike and that's incredibly unlikly anytime soon for a species like ourselfs.

"Some of you need to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and try TALKING to people who don't resemble you"

Clearly there are plenty of black people who are hard working, who serve their country, and who do not expect handouts.

Having said that, some of us live near government projects, which are the hub of government handouts. Entire apartment buildings full of people that the government has made dependent.

One of my best friends is black. His mother was single with several children, and I understand her need for federal assistance. Across the street, however, you find people who clearly do NOT need assistance, but just chill in their public housing, sell drugs, and collect unemployment. It is a cultural and generational problem, and until they snap out of it, they will never rise above it.

...no affirmative action for me there, nor would I have exploited it if there had been.

Too many people here who know NOTHING about the circumstances that led to Affirmative Action coming into existence, but are ready to step up and complain how it isn't "fair" to whites.

Too many people here that assume that obnoxious stereotypes are the benchmark for an entire group of people.

Too many people here that aren't willing to step up and take responsibility for the crappy lives they lead... it's easier to blame Black Americans, because "they all act like their owed something".

News Flash: The U.S. doesn't owe me SH*T.

The U.S. DID however, owe something to the generations that preceded mine as far as making the playing field more level is concerned. It's because of THAT struggle that I was able to create the life I have.

@ Suicism: Thank you for that.

For the record, this "black" man has never taken a single handout except food stamps for a two-month period in the early 1980's when I was between jobs.

I have served my country and its people in both military and civilian roles. I was accepted into college on my academic merits, SAT & ACT scores, not "because I'm Black".

I was always dumbfounded by people who lived in my neighborhood, and attended the same public school I did actually thought I was going to get to go to college for free, simply because I'm "black".

I was the vanguard of the second generation of my family to attend college, my father holds several patents, as a result, my family lived quite comfortably... also a result I was not eligible for many grants and scholarships... My folks didn't pay for college for me either... I worked all the way through, and paid for it myself

I went to grad school in Ireland... n

I don't know what part of Texas he was in, but when I visited San Antonio I have to say the preponderance of southern black people with absolutely NO chip on their shoulder (especially being from the south) and the receptiveness of people overall to my generally gregarious and outgoing disposition was a memorable breath of fresh air.

In any case the point I think he was trying to make (if it was more than an emergency fallback) could have been better served simply by employing some pithy remark like "I'm pretty sure this young man probably has more opportunity at free money than anybody else on the panel."

If semi-black on the right still wanted to get into it,

"Ummmmm... does being Jewish change that for you? Is that why you're so pissed off?"

Calling him "un and ill informed" on his own personal experiences and beliefs makes the black guy look stupid instead. The equivalent would be if you had a bad experience with a restaurant's staff and yet when you voiced this the manager proceeded to come out and call your opinion about his staff both "un and ill informed." You would think he was a complete drating idiot and your opinion of the staff would not have gotten any better.

The people of Hawaii have got more money from the government than the black people for reparations, hands down. How ever, percentage is a right that any person can judge. I myself would've gone with him to dismiss this fact. There is no right answer. People have their opinion. It's not raciest.

If you said that you didn't like Asians to an Asian, they wouldn't call you stupid, they'd probably just laugh about it. I think thats what the Polynesian guy was talking about, about African-Americans having some form of entitlement, or at least getting their panties in a bunch when you say something that's racial.

Bravo Polynesian. Nice cajones you've got there. Everyone is racist in varying degrees, at least he knows he's racist.

Bwahahahaha! Man typical kanaka (equivalent to redneck for Polynesians). Don't use that term in Hawaii unless your ready to fight. Well as a native Texan who moved to Hawaii 28 years ago this is a riot to me. Shocking to all those on TV how a Polynesian could be so prejudice. What a surprise huh.

The bruddah has probably been well indoctrinated since birth by his parents. Probably not uncommon for him to say effin haoles (whites or Hispanics) or effin popolos (blacks) all the time. I have no doubt his parents trained them well. As most local boys have an attitude to begin with on how their islands were taken away by the freaking haoles.

BTW to which he noted how blacks feel like they are owed!? Interesting since Hawaiians go around with the same attitude here. Such as Hawaiian Sovereignty issue and free government entitlements to land as in Hawaiian Homelands. Which is in itself corrupt and screwing it's own race out of free land.

He stated he didn't like black people.
They ask him why.
He gives an honest answer about his personal experiences.
They call him names...
