Friday, May 06, 2011 1:03:55 AM "I did my AP English Literature and Composition exam today. And I was Mexican. Can't forget that." And the entire El Paso school district went to school too. They LIVE within a stones throw away from Mexico, yet there were few objections. Same thing with the many years before. Personally, I'm against any culture forcing holidays on the calendar. More so when said holidays are seized by marketing or hosted by religion. My belief that a certain day of the year is special shouldn't impede your freedom by closing down government faculties. If it's Christmas or Cinco de Mayo you shouldn't have to be forced to not do something just because someone else says so. Now in compensation for those holidays being taken off from the calendar at your school, I'm sure they can fit in extra days off. It can cut both ways you see. |

Thursday, May 05, 2011 6:58:10 PM Cinco de Mayo is more of an excuse for white people to get drunk than anything else. They don't make a big deal of it in most places in mexico. |

Thursday, May 05, 2011 6:52:47 PM Kiaran123: BenTheBug are you implying any1 who celebrates St Patricks day is a douche bag? there are 46 million americans with Irish ancestry who dissagree, not to mention many more millions who join the party. Paddy's day is bad ass. I'm SUGGESTING that anyone who celebrates a holiday just to get drunk is a douche bag. premierwondr: BentheBug I think that just makes you anti-social. Not hanging out with douche bags makes me anti-social? Or not knowing people who celebrate minor holidays? |

Thursday, May 05, 2011 6:14:36 PM We need a Russian holiday so we can get wasted with vodka day. Actually we need many more holidays from all over the world to get wasted. We need to get more serious with the Chinese New Year. What's a good Chinese booze. I celebrate Japanese Bon festival with sake. Kanpai! Crap it ain't July yet? |

Thursday, May 05, 2011 4:51:32 PM Nocciolina: Yeah, it's not even a big deal here... you guys celebrate a stupid date made only for you to get poofaced. And in Mexico we don't even get the day off I don't know anyone who celebrates it... come to think of it, I don't know anyone who celebrates St. Patrick's Day either. Then again, I don't hang out with douche bags. We don't get the day off either. |

Thursday, May 05, 2011 4:37:48 PM "This has got to be the most twisted holiday we have. Only alcoholic Americans really celebrate this." hahaha oh yeah because they will take any opportunity to drink. Even if it is celebrating another nation's independence day |
