death metal requires a lot of technical skill and rough vocals such as this, actually take a lot of muscle control in your throat. Doing it the right way means avoiding permanent damage to your vocal chords.
Death and Black metal are badass; and I want to jump that guy's bones...

The reason I love metal over most genre is because a large percentage of them have passion with music and what they are doing. They have fun with it and the incredible bands don't revolve around fame. How many Pop and Rap "artist" do that? Or even write their own f*cking music?
The people who don't care for Metal instantly jump to the conclusion that it sounds generic and beatless when in fact, they are much too closed minded to actually listen. Granted there are some really sh*tty metal bands but don't listen to three seconds or one song just to say "Metal sucks"
This is all in my opinion, though. |

First of all, it DOES require a lot of voice training to carry those growls and squeals for long periods of time... Most people would see their voice disappear after 2 or 3 songs and these bands do over 12 in a night...
Secondly, "Death metal = crap"
That's your opinion... And you are welcome to it... But I personally find far more artistic talent in most death metal bands than I do in today's pop or hip hop...
Third, LMFAO at the velociraptor squeals at :57...
And no people, he wasn't genuinely doing voice warm ups... He was just screwing around to loosen himself up. People in bands often do silly things like this before going on stage or serious rehearsals in order to get rid of tension or anxiety. ( I have friends in a few signed bands who I've witnessed doing similar silly things... My particular favorite is my friend J [lead singer of Thy Will Be Done] doing Christopher Walken impressions backstage... ) |
