and xtreme0ninja, he said "no" first, thats what started the suspicions. if he said "yes" first they would have simply asked for his ID to prove it and moved on. what's saying he wasnt just lying after they started to move in on him?

Kain1, you are retarded. The cops had absolutely no right to beat and arrest him. He has every right to film them, and when asked if he lives in the house he says, and I quote "I do live here." (0:42 in the video). If I were this guy, I would sue these cops for police brutality, wrongful arrest, damage to personal property (his camera) and searching his house without a warrant (which the one cop said he was going to do, I don't know if he did or not). |

allthough this seems very brutal and so forth, i don't think this officer did anything wrong.. he asked him calmly if he lived there, he answered no.. So here's a man on someone elses property with a camera.. Possibly a burglar scouting out a mark?.. he then calmly asks him to turn off the camera.. he doesn't comply.. So: There's a suspicious and non-compliant man on someone elses property with a camera, at night.. I'd arrest his ass too!.. As for the ass-kicking: Don't resist arrest!, or the officer is not just authorized, but instructed to use all the force necessary... It's very simple; if a police officer throws you to the ground, go limp.. |

Police are just the biggest gang. Just like the crips and bloods. Do something they dont like, they beat you. The government sells drugs, including drugs that get you high, addicted, and unable to operate heavy machinery. They just do what all drug gangs do, kill/take out any and all competition. |

cops love to be in control and act big and bad, they were most likely picked on in school, and have repressed anger, so they take it out with "authority" on people with their smart ass remarks and violence, bottom line, if they didn’t have a badge, they wouldnt act so badass, I hope their squad car gets wrapped around a tree, and burns, and gets peed on by wild desert creatures, and explodes, then rolls off a cliff, and explodes again, and on that day I shall smile. |

The cameraman is gonna be making a bunch of money from the city on this one. I think the laws in the U.S. are going to start recognizing that the exposure of this kind of conduct by police officers will be for the common good. The camaraman seems like he was well within his rights. |

The man was let off without any charges. That means it was admitted at some point that he did nothing wrong. That's as cut and dry as they come. The police officer was even suspended. Why is this worth arguing when there's actual results which speak so much more? |

I feel attacking the man, and kicking the camera was excessive, but then again, it was off-cam what the man was doing to "resist" the officer. But still, he lied to the cop, either about living or not living there, and did not listen to the cop when he politely asked him to leave. |

@Ujelly, the article you linked to is completely wrong. Only in Illinois can it even be compared to being anywhere NEAR truthful. In Maryland it is illegal to record anybody's VOICE without their knowledge UNLESS they shouldn't expect privacy (i.e. they are in public). In fact, there was a high profile case last year where someone recorded a cop on the side of a highway... The charges against him were dropped BECAUSE they were IN PUBLIC.
Don't believe everything you read on the Internet kids.
