I've read some books where it appears to have been stuck in after the book itself was written, as if the author was told by the publisher that she needed to add some porn to make it easier to sell to women.

They DO make porn "designed" for women. It sucks. Playgirl magazines are hot, but the movies are lame sauce and filled with romantics. I just want to see some hardcore f*cking.

I read a lot, including quite a lot of contempory urban fantasy. The whole "what if werewolves/vampires/etc existed today" thing. Nearly all of it is marketed very much for women and there's a lot of porn in it. I'd become so used to skipping past the porn that it came as a pleasant surprise when I found a some more masculine books in the genre and there wasn't any porn in them. |
